We stayed here on short notice after a mix up with another hotel and were not disappointed. The hotel was in a great location and the grounds around were excellent, easy parking and picturesque with highland cows outside. Rooms very fitting with hotel - dated but in line with style - and clean. Room not large but fine for overnight stay. No hassle on checkout a very easy stay. Only one negative was service during beakfast, waited a while then upon ordering a few options that were obviously meant to be given were not, and one item on both our plates slightly undercooked. Would use again and recommend to friends.

We stayed at the Newton on an Oxford Hotels special deal of 2x nights B&B + Dinner on the first night, but were so impressed with the excellent menu and service that we also dined there on the second night. Breakfast was also plentiful, well cooked and of good quality. Though we were booked in a Standard room, they upgraded us on arrival to an Executive room which was spacious, quiet and well appointed with an extremely comfortable large bed. The bath was very welcome for us to relax in with a bottle of wine after a long day's walking! The lounge was cosy and welcoming with real log fires to sit beside with an after dinner drink. Last but not least, I can't say enough about the lovely staff, who were very efficient but also extremely friendly, and who made us feel at home throughout a very enjoyable stay. All in all, highly recommended for a relaxing weekend break - treat yourselves!

Room Tip: Due to the hotel's location, I'd imagine all rooms are quiet. We were given a complimentary...

We checked in and were told we had a complimentary upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Our room was huge, really big bed, seating area even had bunk beds not that we needed these and a huge bathroom.
Room was so clean. Food was amazing, bar was really reasonably priced and bar area is perfect for relaxing.
Room service was fast and great service. I really couldnt say a bad word about anything.
I would most definitely go back and stay again and will be recommending it!

A very enjoyable 4 night break. Booked standard room, they upgraded us on arrival to an executive room which was extremely comfortable and quiet. All the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. As we were touring the Highlands each day and arriving back late we did not use the Dining room in the evening but breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel in a perfect setting, complete with Highland cows!

This is a very nice hotel and is only let dowm by its food which on each night we stayed and ate in the restaurant we found that the food was over salted to such a degree that we had to send my wife's dish back the first night as it was inedable! some of the dishes were over cooked. Breakfast in the morning was not any better, we had to ask for marmalade and butter as there was none at the table we were shown to, the toast was bought at the start of breakfast so by the time you came to eat it, it was cold, not the kind of service you expect from a four star hotel. Otherwise the room was nice and clean and the staff very nice.

We had a lovely 4 night stay in this hotel. The room was furnished to a very good standard and perfectly clean, with a nice powerful shower and always hot water. We booked over the phone direct with the hotel, which worked out very nicely. There was not much of a selection of teas in the room, but some earl grey tea bags were supplied when requested, and the biscuits were good. The staff were all generally very very friendly and helpful, especially the waitresses, but one male waiter was quite inattentive to guests. The breakfast was fine, but, for a four star hotel we might have expected fresh fruit rather than tinned, and little touches such as that could be improved.
