Most of the previous reviews are accurate.Beautiful building set in stunning scenery with a tranquil atmosphere.Rooms are large and spotlessly clean. All the staff were genuinely welcoming and although a lot of them were exhausted having worked lots of hours over the (Easter) weekend they were only "cheerfully grumbling".Food was excellent, bars were comfy and the grounds were stunning for a stroll in the sunshine. We had a chat with the Manager over breakfast and his enthusiasm and friendliness clearly is imitated by his staff.Very difficult to find fault with anything so best not to try.Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Anyone with a view (front or back) will be lovely.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your kind comments and it was pleasing to note your satisfaction overall with your visit to The Newton Hotel.
As you quite rightly point out the mature woodland around the hotel does lend itself to a stunning backdrop for the hotel and provides a tranquil feel to the hotel atmosphere.
I look forward to welcoming youselves back to the hotel in the near future.

Kind regards

Arrived today 2 hours early, but was allocated my room almost straight away. Beautiful location and a lovely little Scottish town with stunning beaches and a quaint harbour.

Room very clean, all amenities I need are at hand! Reception was attentive, looking forward to a meal in the Chaplin restaurant this evening.

I would return without question and would highly recommend. I sourced the room on late rooms.com at £70 for a 1 night midweek stay for one adult, I would say excellent value for money.

The hotel has a wealth of history surrounding Charlie Chaplin, well worth a visit for any Chaplin fan

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your positive comments regarding your recent stay with us at The Newton Hotel.
The local area does have many positive attributes, especially the beaches and local scenery which brings guests back to Nairn for many visits.
If visitors are flexible with their travel plans there is some great offers to be had by contacting the hotel direct.
Charlie Chaplin was a frequent visitor to the Newton Hotel for many months, staying for 2-3 weeks in the summer with his family for a number of years. We have the Chaplins restaurant in the hotel and also a suite named in his honour, which features photos of his family around the hotel grounds.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and found it to be value for money.
I look forward to welcoming you back to the Newrton Hotel in the near future.

Kind regards

This hotel is in a lovely area. The 3 highland cattle, named after the parts of haggis, are adorable to watch as they amble around. Very close to the Loch. It was cold to go in but so peaceful and a short walk from the hotel. I felt very safe walking by myself. Food was good. It was a nice hotel, very clean.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind comments regarding your stay at The Newton Hotel.
Unfortunately one of our Highland cattle passed away recently aged 17 years old. They do have a gentle stress free time as they amble around the field and provide many photo opportunities for our guests.

We have been to this hotel numerous times and its never let us down. Even though the weather was not too good, the staff and the lovely hotel means this we will return again.
The hotel is spotless and I don't know how housekeeping got th.e shower screen so clean. This time we were in room 222 and the bed was soooo comfy. We have also stayed in the Charlie Chaplin suite and felt very pampered. The breakfast is wonderful and the service is very quick. There is everything you could want, in fact this morning a guest asked for sweeteners and these were quickly brought to his table. Apart from the two highland cows in the ground there are seemingly 5 deer in the grounds. Unfortunately we didn't see them on this visit

Room Tip: All rooms we have stayed in have been good. If you can afford it treat yourself to a suite

Dear Guest,
It was pleasing to note your positive comments regarding your recent stay at The Newton Hotel and glad you had another enjoyable stay with us.
The deer are more visible in the colder months, ( of which there can be many in Nairn ) as they roam around the hotel grounds in search of food.
As for the weather, I am at a loss on that one.
I look forward to welcoming you back to The Newton Hotel in the warmer months.

Kind regards

Just back from spending a couple of days at the Newton Hotel Nairn, was very apprehensive about going as some of the review for this hotel were not really inviting but it is a case of not believing what others write. The original hotel is old and yes some parts could be done with an upgrade but they need to keep the original features as they are stunning, the bedroom was a descent size and very cosy and clean, however when we first arrived the room did smell a little overpowering from bleach but opened the window and soon sorted that problem.
Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. The only one negative was that the dinner menu could have had more choices on it and seeing as I am vegetarian only 1 dish available however the breakfast was entirely different with a vast choice of cheese & hams, cereals, fruits and juices and what ever you would want from a hot cooked breakfast. Will definitely be going back

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comments relating to your recent stay at The Newton Hotel. I find the comments interesting from the point of view of the variety and difference in the opinion, but where possible try to act on comments which would improve the standards of the hotel. I take on board your comments regarding the dinner menu and will discuss these with Martin the Head Chef to reslove this issue. An example of this, was the review of the breakfast buffet following on from negative comments from some reviews. This was reviewed and it was pleasing to note your positive comments regarding this.

Kind regards

Nice large bedroom with good sized bathroom. Bed had the softest mattress imaginable, very uncomfortable. Very generous portion sizes for dinner although the menu was a bit short of choices. Bar prices reasonable but disappointing selection of beer. Bar and dining room staff all very helpful and extremely pleasant. Reception staff less helpful when we complained about the over soft mattress though.

The Newton is a good example of an old hotel that's had a make over and has moved into the 21st century without losing its character. The place has been refurbished to a very nice standard. The service is very good. Our room was overlooking the field in front of the hotel and very spacious with all that a room should have. We had breakfast in our room on the first morning and it was excellent. Dinner was also very good although I would have to say the cooking needs to move into the 21st century too. The dishes sounded good on the menu and were presented well but we just a little short of what I would have expected... The food could have been a bit more contemporary, it seemed a little on the traditional, dated side in presentation. Overall a great place to stay though!

Dear Guests,
Your positive comments are much appreciated and it was pleasing to note the many aspects of the hotel that you enjoyed. There are a number of bedrooms around the hotel that afford a lovely view of either the gardens or the sea view and these are always popular with our returning guests.
That was an interesting point you make regarding the changes and not losing the character and is something that is commented on frequently by overseas guests.
I also note your comments regarding the meals and I will discuss this with Martin, The Head Chef prior to our review of the menus.

Many thanks for taking the time to record your comments and I look forward to welcoming yourselves back to The Newton Hotel in the near future.

Kind regards
