Everyone was so hopeful and nice. Food was good and so was the service. If you are wanting to get away this issue place to go.

My only two complaints no AC and the beds were hard. I dont like sleeping on a rock.

Room Tip: Great location Freindly staff Good food

Stayed the night at this hotel which looks grand from the outside. The room we stayed in was nice with a lovely bathroom suite, probably better than some of the other rooms we walked past. Heard some noise above our room, hope it wasn't the ghost Charlie Chaplin! Breakfast was a little confusing didn't know what was available thought it was just continental and porridge on offer until someone came up to us after we'd sat down to eat and asked us if we wanted a full english. Upholstery a little jaded but have to say saw a lot of cleaning going on in the morning. Comfortable but don't know if it was worth £150.00 pounds a night.

We were married at the Newton in July 2010 and returned here for a one night stay for our third anniversary. We stayed in the Chaplin suite which was booked on request as it was the room we stayed in on our wedding night. The suite is enormous with four poster bed and view over the garden. Room service was prompt and efficient. Breakfast is well set out, lots of choice and of a high quality. We chose this hotel for our wedding because it has quite traditional highland decor but with modern touches. Although we didn't dine in the Chaplin restaurant this time, we have before and would highly recommend it. The grounds are outstanding - an enclosed back garden and large lawn and field at the front with highland cows 'Haggis' 'Neeps' and 'Tatties'. We'd recommend this hotel to visitors of any age but the suites are far superior to standard rooms and not much more expensive.

We went to a wedding at the Newton and it is just perfect. Gorgeous surroundings and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

The grounds are lovely and the bar prices not too bad for a hotel.

The main room for weddings is just right.

Fantastic.

Room Tip: Didn't stay there sorry.

Have just returned from attending a wedding at this lovely hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were wonderfully helpful, and the service was great. We had opted to stay overnight after the wedding celebrations - and although we were given the type of room we asked for, the bed was small for my husband (who is disabled)- but they sorted us out with an equally nice room with twin beds, which overlooked the beautiful garden. Thank you! everything was clean and fresh - I just love white bed linen and duvet covers! - and public areas were clean and pleasant too.
The meal at the wedding was fabulous, and I take my hat off to the chef, who managed to produce food of an exceptional standard on a large scale.
We had heard rave reviews of this hote, and we can only reiterate the compliment - lovely stay, and would consider taking a few days "off" here in the future to relax and unwind.

Room Tip: If you are disabled, ask for an executive room as there is a separate shower.

My partner and I were staying in the hotel for one night for a wedding. The hotel and grounds were fantastic. The wedding we attended was great as was the food and entertainment that night.

The one thing that let the whole experience down was the room.

When I phoned to book the room I was convinced to take the deluxe double over the standard as it was described as a beautiful room. When we arrived in the room it was immediately evident that it not very well maintained with marks on the floor and wall. Also on the wall were holes that had been pretty badly plastered. The TV in the room was about as old as the hotel itself the only upside was that it wasn't black and white. The mattress was completely lifeless.

The only good thing about the room was the bathroom which was of a good standard.

Lesson learned. Don't be talked into the deluxe room at £140 for a night, really not worth it.

My friend and I stayed at the Newton Hotel, for 3 days recently and we have to say that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, Shaun in the dining room was chatty and helpful with information, the young man on the front desk was excellent, the room was beautiful, clean and well presented, the breakfasts were very good value and well presented, we are well seasoned travellers and would definately stay there again.
