Stayed here 10th - 12th September '13.The hotel is very comfortable and cozy. Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is superb with lots of choices and dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Had a great room with a view of the highland cattle in the grounds and the Moray Firth. My stay was a birthday treat from my family but would definitely love to stay in the area again (lots of interesting places to visit within easy reach) and would choose the Newton again.

Room Tip: Room I was in had sash windows that didn't open. Although not much of a problem for time of year...

The hotel was beautiful, nice furnishings, with a view of the coast. Quietly secluded.

But the room was not as fantastic. Though the room and toilet were clean, the beds were too soft and the hot water for the shower took an amazingly long time to flow.

The food in the hotel was delicious. We had a set dinner and the complimentary breakfast in the morning.

Great selling point is the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. We had a great time at the bar, talking to the various bartenders who were there to serve us. At the end of the night, the bartenders informed us that they had to leave, but if we needed more drinks, we could always call to ask for service. What great hospitality! Anyway, by that time, we certainly had enough, so we were happy to call it a night.

If you want to stay at a castle this is the place to be. The staff are excellent ,the rooms are big and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was beautiful . The only negative was the TV was a bit out dated but then again you are not here to watch it. So over all highly recommend

We enjoyed everything about our visit to the Newton Hotel. Rooms were big and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, the food was good and loved the Highland cows in the adjacent pasture. We arrived during a Scottish wedding reception and got to see the attendants in their kilts. It was lots of fun and the wedding party gave the whole hotel a festive feel. They were kind enough to stop the revelry and music at a decent hour.

A perfect hotel in every way. The rooms are large, very comfortable, & super clean. The food is excellent, staff over the top & it is an actual castle. If I return to Scotland I will make it a point to spend time at the Newton Hotel. Make sure you check out the Highland cows.

Room Tip: Liked the rooms in the new wing.

My daughter got married at the hotel on Saturday 24th August. We stayed 4 nights 23rd to 26th. The Newton is a fantastic hotel to have a wedding. Hannah the wedding planner did a magnificent job working with my daughter to organise the big day, nothing was too much trouble and every attention to detail was taken. On the day Mark worked tirelessly to ensure all ran smoothly with his team and we kept to time. The whole day ran like clockwork. The meal was excellent at reception service spot on too. We had a lovely room as we had our dogs with us great breakfasts as well. If you are planning a wedding here then you have no worries at all. Well done to all the staff at the hotel!

Room Tip: 102 is nice secluded in its own little area next to Findlay Suite so quiet
