A lovely lodge situated just outside of Blackwaterfoot. We loved being so close to Shiskine golf course. It was a pleasure to watch all the little red squirrels and birds feeding in the nearby trees. The lodge itself was so clean and tidy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Arran. We have two teenage children and it worked well them having their own room. We would happily return. Arran is a stunning island and for anyone who has never visited it is not to be missed.
Very comfortable accommodation in location ideal for touring the Isle . We enjoyed the forest walk to the king's cave , beach walk at Blackwaterfoot . The standing stones, at Machrie ten minute drive from the lodge, impressive. The history museum in Brodwick well worth a visit.
Our time spent in the Ar Fasgadh Lodge was blissful. The location was ideal, the Lodge both warm and welcoming, and the owners incredibly helpful and friendly.
Everything you could possibly need is provided in the Lodge, it is very child friendly, right down to the daily visits from a particularly cheery, well fed red squirrel and the drawers of toys, games, dvds...I look forward to planning a return visit in the not so distant future!
This lodge is on the quieter side of Arran but is still positioned to make it easily accessible to other parts of the island.
The Owners, Gerry and Susan, made the booking process easy, answered any questions and provided a lot of information about the lodge and the island prior to arriving. They also personally met us and provided a lovely basket of Arran gifts and other bits which were gratefully received!
The lodge itself was extremely well equipped and very much home from home. A lot of care, detail and attention is given to their guests and what is provided and was spotlessly clean and tidy.
Gerry and Susan offered a fantastic lodge and service – certainly above and beyond what we have received with other lets we have done elsewhere in the UK!!
Just come back from a great week on the Isle of Arran staying at the stunning Ar Fasgadh lodge in Torbeg. The owners, Gerry & Susan, have gone above & beyond to make sure their guests are well-catered for. The location is beautiful, the lodge extremely well set-out with everything you need for a holiday - you really don't need to take all the usual paraphernalia of beach mats, chairs etc that would normally take up precious space in the car. It's all there, including a pushchair for the little one, golf clubs, football, buckets & spades etc. The kitchen is superbly equipped including dishwasher, washing machine & tumble drier. There are loads of games to play - for the youngest to the oldest guests, so even if the weather isn't great you'll never get bored! I have to say this is THE BEST self-catering place we have ever stayed in - we wish we could have our own lodge to escape to whenever we want!
We had a fantastic family holiday at this fantastic, well equipped, modern, super clean , well located and beautifully decorated lodge. We would totally recommend to others.
The lodge is beautiful and has everything you could need. It really is a home from home. All weathers catered for and extra touches make it an easy place to stay. From cooking an evening meal to going on beach trips, there is so much equipment in the lodge to make these things easy to do.
As well as us, our children had a wonderful time. There was some outdoor space for them to run around and whilst it was next to other lodges we felt as if we had our privacy as the other lodges aren’t on top of each other.
From dining outside on the gorgeous veranda, to the copious amount of games to play for rainy days, stunning scenery out of the window , feeding the little squirrel that lives in the garden and super comfortable beds we loved every minute of our stay .
It's well located in a quiet part of the island and there is so much to do on Arran, from interesting picturesque walks, stunning beaches, interesting local visitor centres and amazing food.
Location wise we were in a great spot and very quiet. A little walk to the nearest village but its doable. Most attractions on the island are a car/bus ride away but with the scenery Arran has on offer it was never a dull trip.
Susan and Gerry the owners were so hospitable, bending over backwards to ensure we had everything to hand and our needs were catered for before, during and after our trip .
We fully intend to revisit Arran in the future as it had so much to offer our family of 6 and when we do we will certainly stay in this wonderful lodge again.
Ar Fasgadh is a fantastic holiday base! Well equipped, clean, comfortable and relaxing! Gerry and Susan the owners have gone above and beyond to ensure that everything was just so for our arrival. The location is beautiful with plenty to do and see across the Isle of Arran.
