“Very Pleasant at 134/9 The Pleasance”
Reviewed 30 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in, May 2015. Located on the third floor of a small apartment block (street number 139) within a row of these in The Pleasance, the lounge at the front overlooked a park with an attractive few of blossom trees and the main bedroom at the rear provided an outstanding view of Arthur’s seat. Bathroom (including bath with shower), separate kitchen (with front-loader clothes washer and equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils and equipment), lounge and bedroom provided great functionality and comfort. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of heating and hot water. The owner Susie Black had set the apartment up very well for the short term stay, with plenty of information and instructions and if you had kids with you there was a PlayStation with games and DVDs. The Wifi was effective and problem free. I communicated with Susie by email before, during and after (although she had provided direct phone contact details while we were there) and found her extremely attentive to these communications and she provided a rapid refund of the deposit upon departure. If you had any queries, she appears to me the sort of person who would readily assist. There is a bus stop (no: 14 bus) across the road from the flat next to a café and a short walk (2-3min) to Nicholson St (where you can find supermarkets and shops) the extension of North Bridge Rd, and access to other bus routes. We took an Airlink airport bus from Edinburgh airport that stopped near Waverly Rail station and walked around to and then up The Pleasance. I’d suggest if you are walking to the accommodation, take the route up North Bridge Road as it is more of a level path, as you do have to take stairs up to the 3rd floor when you get to the apartment. We found it easy to walk to the sites within the city from the Pleasance and take buses to those sites further out. The key collection is from a coded key safe and there were no problems with that arrangement or with our stay. In short it was a very comfortable and pleasant apartment that I would not hesitate in recommending to others, particularly to the international traveller who may be less familiar with Edinburgh.

Wow, what a detailed review. Thank you for your time and attention. These are exactly the kind of things that guests need to know and reading this information from a third party is so much better than any assistance I can give. I really value your recommendation. Thanks, Susie.

“Could not have asked for more!”
Reviewed 31 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The location and views of this flat are very nice. I enjoyed Edinburgh as much from inside the flat as touring. The flat had everything we needed. There was some confusion on check-in, which was entirely on my end and Suzie went out of her way to help us. I highly recommend staying here.

“Home away from home in Edinburgh”
Reviewed 11 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The apartment was great! It was just the right size for myself, my husband and our toddler—it was great to have the extra space that a flat provides as opposed to a hotel or B&B. It was close to the old town in the vibrant Marchmont area. You have everything you could want in easy walking distance. The flat was wonderfully furnished and everything was very comfy. The bedroom also has amazing views of Arthur's seat and you can even see the Firth of Forth in the distance!

“Don´t miss this place in Edinburgh! You won´t find anything better!”
Reviewed 9 December 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We have spent 2 months in The Pleasance Apartment and we have no words to describe how well we have been treated!! Susie has been so nice, helpful and understanding with our requirements that she looked more family than a Landlady. Thanks again Susie to make our lives much easier in our first two months in Edinburgh!!
Besides that, what to say about the apartment? It was extremely clean, comfortable, warm, well oriented to the South (Deaconess Gardens) and with astonishing views of Arthur´s Seat (you can be on the top in 45 min!). The wifi works smoothly. The kitchen is very well endowed with everything you could need and bed and bath linen are extraordinary. All the main buses to the City Centre, the Royal Infirmary or the King´s Building are 3 min away. There are 3 convenient supermarkets and fishmongers, butchers, restaurants, newsagents, etc… at short walking distance. The University Sport Centre and Holyrood Park are also really close for those who love sport. And the Festival Theatre, Queen´s and King´s Halls, music bars, pubs etc. make evenings delightful.
We would have been more than happy to stay in there for our next two years in the city, but Susie wants much more people to have the opportunity to enjoy her nice Pleasance Apt. We understand that Susie!
We strongly recommend the apartment to anybody visiting Edinburgh since it´s a more convenient option than most of the expensive hotels in the City.

“Perfect place next to Holyrood Park!”
Reviewed 1 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a very nice place to stay in Edinburgh especially if you are a nature's lover cause it is situated next to Holyrood Park where you can have long walks or jog or even climb up to Arthur's hill!We enjoyed our stay there for a week in August although we had some problems with the heating(it did not work the first day)!Susie the owner is very friendly and tried her best to fix the problem..Next to the center on foot almost 20minutes or by bus it has everything to provide you a nice stay..Next to 2 supermarkets cafeterias and with a lovely bed to lie on and everything you need to prepare your meals if you do not wish to eat out(even salt, peper and other stuff)..Excellent connection with the station and city center..Big selection of videogames, movies and excellent view of the hill from the bedroom..Loved it!
