Description: A busy licensed Italian restaurant, popular with locals and visitors to the area. Offering a wide chioce of dishes, mainly Pizza and Pasta, but also much more. Special lunchtime 2 course & 3 course offers available. We have been consitently serving freshly prepaired food for 20 years, with a consistently high turnover of covers. We do not endorse the use of TripAdvisor for anyone (whether a customer or not) to leave harsh, critical, or defamitory comments permanently on the internet. We have run a successful business for 20 years without the need of the internet to support us, or to bring us down. We are always willing to listen to customer comments at the time of visit, whereby we can offer something as a replacement where required. If you're happy with our service, then tell others. If not, then tell us. It's as simple as that. We will do our best to keep all our genuine customers happy with their visit to us.

“Shocking and non authentic”
Reviewed 16 November 2013 via mobile

Visited on a Sunday evening- wasn't first choice due t menu never changing, lack if Italian authenticity and nothing to shout about service!!!
After our asda style tiger bread to start we received our mains- my husband orders the pasta that states baked in foil- which is actually cooked in a pan and then poured into foil and then served- so we found out!!! We started our meals during which a table of ladies requested that their 'authentic pasta in foil! Was placed back in the oven to be heated- not sure if it was cold due to them being slow eating because of chatting as they'd had their meals before us- all 4 meals were returned to the 'chef' where I watched him put all four plates of pasta back into one pan and stir together to heat up for 10 mins!!!! He then shared out between 4 new bowls encased in foil and gave back to ladies- offered pepper and Parmesan- like it was a fresh meal- and all tucked in!!!! We were mortified and left soon after feeling sick!! Let's hope they were close friends and didn't mind sharing!!!! Shocking standards for a restaurant!!!!!

I was shocked to read the comments in your review.

We have been operating for over 20 years and in this time, it has been a lot of work and effort on the behalf of the owners to establish and maintain a popular and successful small restaurant. Admittedly, some of what we offer is not fully 'authentic', however it is in line with locally available products, as well as with what is popular with customers.

We have not felt the need to change the menu much over the years as it has proved to be popular with our customers, both with locals and those who visit the area. The pasta in the foil is a traditional dish from regional Italy, and we originally used the traditional method of cooking. However, we discovered that the 'quicker' method was just as effective, and also contributed to the 'flow' of our small kitchen on busier nights. This method has stuck, and the dish is one of the most popular of our pasta dishes in the restaurant, both for sitting in, and take-away.

Back to the issue of what the chef did during your visit. As I said, I am shocked that this happened. First, for customers to receive cold, sub standard food. And second, the way in which the meals were reheated and served back to the table. May I emphasize that this is NOT normal or acceptable behavior, and he will be disciplined for this. It is unfortunate that this sort of behavior brings the name and reputation of the business into disrepute, rather than his own name.

Fast and efficient service, always enjoy the food, whether dinner or lunch, known in town as one of the better places to eat, also do delivery that can't be flawed. Would definately recommend, children were also welcome x

“Well i was DISAPPOINTED!!”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

Had heard some very good reviews about this restaurant so when i was in Elgin i decided this would be a good place for dinner didnt know you had to book in advance. I have eaten here before, for lunch, but dinner was quite a different experience.
The service, by my standards, was totally lacking in standards. The menus were more or less thrown at you I would have expected them to have been handed to the customer individually..(waited 40mins to have an order taken )
The serving staff were however very pleasant.
I would definitely think twice about going back

“So much more than a pizzeria”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Toscana is more of a Italian Bistro than a bog standard pizzeria. Good variety menu with something for everyone and at very reasonable prices too. I normally wouldn't go for a steak in this type of restaurant but I did and glad I did. My wife had an interesting pasta dish which she is still raving about. We can't wait for our next visit to Elgin. Friendly efficient staff with a good knowledge of the menu. Highly recommended.
