Food is always so fresh, tasty and service is first class.
Have been getting take away food, and last week was even better than normal.
Have recommended to friends who all have commented is the best Indian food in Airdrie/Coatbridge.

After looking at reviews on TA, Visited saffron lounge whilst in area.
Place was not busy, with only one other couple eating.
Staff friendly, restaurant interior basic.
Food average.
Couldn't recommend.

There is not much choice when it comes to Indian restaurants in Airdrie but the Saffron Lounge serves up good food (let down only by their Pakora) and is better than the Ashoka in nearby Coatbridge.

The kitchen can be viewed from the reception area and I was able to see them cooking the main course from scratch rather from a big vat of pre-prepared curry. The welcome was very good and the staff had good knowledge of the available dishes.

When reading some of the reviews, like 'best meal ever', I had to question the validity of the comments but maybe they haven't tried some of the Indian restaurants in Glasgow City Centre, e.g. Dhabba, Dakin, Kama Stutra, etc. which I would rate much higher.

Overall I'd say for going out to a local restaurant this is is quite a nice place to eat. The only criticism for eating in is the lack of separation from those getting a carry out and those eating in at the front of the restaurant.

Although I have given this an average rating, if I don't want to travel into Glasgow then this is the best alternative.

I had garlic flat bread and I asked them to put garlic in their butter chicken masala....what a dish. Mouth watering. They offer deals all the time which are great value for money especially if you enjoy a glass of wine with your food. I also ate from a rival Indian restaurant and ordered the same dish but it didn't touch the quality of the saffron lounge dish and tasted completely different. Go eat here, be satisfied and leave with change in your pocket. :)
