John and Jan were gracious hosts and very helpful. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and attention was given to detail. There was even a small refrigerator in our room with beverages. John was helpful in getting us reservations at a restaurant which was excellent. The guest house was within walking distance of downtown. There was even a resource room with information of interesting sites as well as a large map to help with the travels. The breakfast was delicious and the tables were set beautifully. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

Room Tip: There was no swimming pool but did not know how to eliminate it. I am sure if there had been a pool...

We stayed at Pitcullen on Saturday night. A lovely warm welcome from John with loads of relevant information for our stay. Rooms lovely, clean and very comfortable. Lots of little touches like fridge with complimentary soft drinks. Breakfast was very tasty and friendly with John introducing guests so felt like we all knew each other by the time we had finished our very relaxing breakfast. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again next time we are in Perth. Thank you! Rebecca and all the muddy charity walkers!

We stayed for 1 night in room 6, facing the street at the front of the property.

The room, although small, was very comfortable and cosy and thoughtfully outfitted. There were lots of nice touches in the room including filtered water, good tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar with complimentary soft drinks and mints.

Even though the property is on a fairly busy road, we didn’t hear any noise through the triple glazed window. The window had black out blinds which meant the room was nice and dark in the morning.

There was good strength wi-fi available in the room.

The bathroom (shower only, lots of hot water) was small but fine. The towels were lovely and fluffy.

We enjoyed breakfast served in the ground floor breakfast room (pre-selected from a selection of continental and cooked options).

Parking was free and was on the driveway out the front of the property.

There is a small sitting room on the first floor filled with information on the area, to help with sightseeing ideas and trip plans. John was extremely helpful with suggestions of things to see on our drive from Perth the following day and also provided help in selecting a restaurant that night.

The property is a short walk in to Perth city centre, across the old bridge (approximately 10 minutes walk to the bridge). We walked to and from dinner in the city centre with no problem.

We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Perth our first 2 nights in Scotland and it was perfect choice. John was most welcome host I have ever met (and I have met a lot), he was always one step ahead for our needs and advices. His advices were very helpfull and his recommendations were always so on time. Our room was small, but it had everything wee needed and it was very clean. The fridge with complimentary drinks was very welcoming. B&B is close to the centre on a busy street, but if you close the windows, traffic noise won`t disturb your sleep.

Perth was our first stop on a Scottish tour and Pitcullen was a good start. Just what we wanted- on the edge of the City- within walking distance for most- and a comfortable room with nice touches- and ample Scottish breakfast according to choice. We didn't find it noisy and could make a smooth departure in the morning. As others have said, John proved to have been very helpful with tourist tips for our ongoing journey: not the obvious ones, either. He directed us to good evening restaurants, too. Parking a little cramped, but adequate and off the road.

We stayed at the Pitcullen on 31 May 2014 and rank it as one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in.
It is an object lesson to other B&B proprietors with everything excellent and a clear attention to detail from the quality of towels and complimentary fridge drinks to homemade marmalade and proper coffee. Our engaging host made us feel quite at home - better than home!
Highly recommended
