Fish and chip have been part of the staple diet of Scots fir centuries and the 'Chippie' can be found in every village and town in the country. These were first started by Italian immigrants in the 1930's and usually had an ice cream parlour attached.
Most of them have become Chinese takeaways, but the Fish & Chip Co at Craigie in Perth is still a traditional fish and chip shop, although even it now offers pizzas as well.
Best of all is the owner who remembers not only the clients, but every order as well. He cooks half-a-dozen fresh orders at a time and every item is freshly prepared.
There is a massive selection of items on the menu with three sizes of fish and chip suppers available and even a small fish supper for seniors!
