Rowanlea is in a lovely location just a few minutes drive from the centre of Pitlochry, near the golf course. The room was incredibly spacious, with a huge 6ft bed (which was very comfortable) sofa, tv and our bathroom had a bath/shower combination with very nice toiletries - both rooms were also spotlessly clean. Outside there was nice little garden, with a table you could sit at to enjoy the weather. Breakfast was brilliant - a selection of yoghurts, cereal, and orange juice for the continental breakfast and the option of anything cooked - including porridge. Needless to say, we both left breakfast each morning incredibly well fed! The owner, Gill, was so friendly and helpful in making suggestions of things to see and places to eat - she made us feel very welcome. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of June and paid £112 altogether, which is an incredible value high season price for such a wonderful place.
Overall, I couldn't fault the stay at all and when we visit Pitlochry again we wouldn't stay anywhere but here!

Overall a good B and B. position excellent and rooms clean and well appointed. Breakfast very good.
Only problem we found was the design of the room.
B and B has two letting rooms at the back of the house ground level facing the garden. No windows only a large double glazed patio door. Only way to ventilate in hot weather is to leave the door open (All night) if necessary.Guests in the next door room walk past your door and as it has no net/voile covering they get a full view of anything going on in the room. The only option is to pull the heavy curtains

Room Tip: Try to get the walker room- no one can walk past

This was our second week-long visit and I can't praise Rowanlea enough. The self-contained accommodation means you have the privacy of a hotel room with the personal attention of a B&B. The room is huge with a sofa, very generous storage and a wonderfully comfortable 6ft bed. The enormous bathroom is well equipped with toiletries and the thick fluffy towels are changed every day. There is a fabulous view through the patio doors to the hills beyond and you can sit outside on the patio furniture. Jilly provides a great breakfast (the porridge is excellent) and she always goes the extra mile to make us welcome and ensure our stay is truly memorable. It is a pleasant stroll to the amenities of Pitlochry and close to the golf course, which has a good restaurant. Can't wait for our next visit.

This was our third visit to Rowanlea within 12 months. As usual, our hostess Gill was very welcoming and friendly. The location is brilliant and the views to the distant hills are stunning. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean while the bathroom/shower had an excellent supply of toiletries. The full Scottish breakfasts were very filling. All in all, it was a very relaxing break in an excellent location. If you are staying there and get a clear night, make sure you take a look at the sky - loads of stars and no light pollution.

Room Tip: The property has 2 bedrooms and both have great views

We are a retired couple who went to Rowan Lea for 10 days.
The owner was very welcoming and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Everything at the hotel was spotlessly clean. The location was great. The whole holiday was very relaxing. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We would highly recommend.

We had been touring north Scotland and were on our way home to Cornwall which took three days. Regrettably we were only staying here for one night. Everything is right. Huge room with sofa for sitting on and enjoying the view, or a table and chairs outside for warmer days. Large ensuite with all toiletries. Gill was most welcoming and has a great knowledge of the area, and things to do and see. . A few minutes walk away is the Golf Club which is ideal for an evening meal and reasonablypriced. We have run a B&B ourselves for many years and so know what is right and Rowanlea is. Breakst is also just right and delicious. We hope to come back and spend more time in the area and wouldn't think of looking elsewhere. If it's peace and quiet you want..but close enough to walk into the town here it is. Perfect.

Room Tip: Bothe rooms are the same but one has a bath with shower overit and the other just a shower.

Our room was spacious, modern, and comfortable; the only one on our recent trip that had adequate room for our two suitcases and still allowed us to sit down. The bathroom/shower was also very spacious and everything was spotlessly clean. The large glass sliding door facing south allowed the sun to warm the room even on a chilly day and looked out on a large private garden. The location is on a charming lane on the hill above Pitlochry, away from the noise of the highway and rail line but a short 15 walk to the town. The only thing less than excellent for us was the breakfast; geared to those who want a cooked breakfast, the continental breakfast consisted of toast, small packets of jam, yogurt, etc., adequate but not notable.

Room Tip: Assuming both rooms are identical, either are an excellent choice.
