Description: Fern Cottage Restaurant in the heart of Pitlochry is a firm favourite, both for local residents and visitors to Highland Perthshire. We are located as close as you can get to the heart of this picturesque Victorian town. Fern Cottage Restaurant offers a warm Highland welcome, truly tasty food and personal service for every customer. Our menus have an emphasis on flavour, the freshness of Scotlands' larder and a taste of the Mediterranean. There is now more than ever on offer with different menus at lunch and dinner times. Retaining much of the original ethos of using Scottish, seasonal ingredients to create dishes with a Mediterranean twist, our food is cooked to order and guarantees a treat for your taste-buds, whether a classic or a contemporary dish. Fern Cottage is now on winter hours. We will be open for lunches from 12noon with last orders at 2.15pm. We will re-open for pre-theatre or a la carte in the evening all using seasonal produce - we offer you something special every time. Head Chef Rifat Aycan has created the new menus using an exciting new range of dishes packed with flavour and all beautifully presented. Whether front of house or 'behind the kitchen door, every member of our team is dedicated to ensuring you enjoy your visit, spread the word and come back for more!

We've had some dubious experiences in the past when eating out in Pitlochry, and this time we roamed the street in the afternoon to find somewhere different for dinner. The Fern Cottage menu looked good, so we booked.

The food, the service and the wine were first class. It was busy that night, but the tables are well-spaced and there was a lovely atmosphere. Some reviews here have mentioned small portions, but in my opinion the portions were perfectly sized - if, like us, you're put off by heaped plates of mediocre food then come here. Ingredients quality was first class. And the small outside eating areas are segregated for smokers and non-smokers, most unusual and very thoughtful.

Not the cheapest place to eat in the area but truly a case of you get what you pay for. We will be back.

Really good service, really good food. On the pricey side, but great for a special occasion. Extensive menu, with local specialties. Kids welcome.

Hello
Its great that you enjoyed your meal here at Fern Cottage. I'll pass on your kind comments to my chefs and waiting staff. I don’t know if you were here before we introduced the Table d' Hote menu too, which gives you even more choice and for a fixed price.

Found the menu on the pricey side, as well as disappointingly small portion sizes. Been out walking and there simply wasn't enough to eat!!

We booked a pre-theatre dinner and the menu choice and price was perfect. The service, wine and food quality were all excellent. The four of us all had different food choices and there was a unanimous verdict that we would have dinner here again. Perfect!

Have been here again for Dinner two times in June 2014. In both cases, nice and creative food, excellent taste and friendly staff.
If it's get busy, they are getting in slightly problems (experience from last September 2013)
