Room 5 was a Standard Double which for £93 was - standard.

Excellent decoration, very clean and decent shower room - although the sink took 10 minutes to drain (not nice when brushing teeth) and water pressure was a trickle from the shower.

Our bed was barely a double, and pillows from what seemed like a cot - but rolling in at 1am were very comfortable.

A sizeable double bedroom without the ensuite, this room was a squeeze - although manageable.

Staff were friendly, although our request for an early entry was ignored - we were allowed to view our rooms, which were clean and ready - but not enter!

Breakfast was great, a HUGE choice of cereals, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, fruit juices and the all important UNLIMITED cooked breakfast buffet!

I'd regard the Rosemount as an overpriced B&B with the need for an injection of vitality. If we'd have paid £60 p/n I'd have been extremely happy.

Room Tip: Budget rooms are older decor and Standards are modern and fresh.

Ever-grateful to receive constructive commentary, can we just send a note of thanks for your review. We are delighted that you found us well decorated and clean. The sink in your bathroom is designed for ultra clean, minmal lines and the plug is gravity held and simply requires a flick with the finger to fully open - perhaps not the best for a letting bedroom, but it looks so fine, there's a "feel-good" element that can't be ignored.

I can assure you that all our beds are standard sizes. That in your room has exceptionally deep-down mattress and duvet, so I must assume that in appearing higher than normal, it also appeared less wide?

Early entry to rooms is only usually an issue on Saturdays when we have a higher turnover of departing guests. Any other day of the week would generally present no problem to our staff in having a room ready by 1pm after an 11 am check-out. There are some "not so apparent" aspects to completing a room service, which is why the room looked clean, but was still not ready for entry.

Reviews regularly acknowledge that we are extremely competitively priced for the area. High tariffs locally reflect nothing other than the costs of running a business here and the numbers which are closing are a salutary testament to the down-side of this fact. We all hope to be able to remain for many years offering the best possible facilities to visitors to this fabulous part of the world and would hope that they, in turn, will be willing to support that effort, proportionate to the costs of provision.

It's good to hear that you enjoyed breakfast. It most certainly is the most important meal of the day and worthy of every small investment. All businesses have to make hard choices in the current economy. Breakfast is our last opportunity to show guests our generosity of spirit and is therefore not an element of our establishment that has or will be seeing any economic trimming.

The Hotel have certainly put thought into the style of their rooms. Not sure if all are as nice as ours was. The draw back to the room was the wardrobe door was hanging off, the dirty smell in the room made it hard to sleep & the walls so thin. Was kept awake all night as the next door room was snoring & then laughing in his sleep. Bathroom very stylish but the shower was difficult to operate safely & you cannot adjust the temp unless you are stood under the shower which is silly. Towels were torn & a little shabby. The toilet seat although modern was very round & very large & made it difficult to sit on. Not for a slim bum. Bed sheets had hair & stain on it which was a bit yacky. We noticed we had picked up allot of Dog hairs from our visit. The room carpet appeared to look clean. But the reception & restaurant & bar area was filthy. Really filthy looking. I honestly have never seen a hotel carpet so patchy with dirty stains. Its an old building so creaking is normal. But the slamming of doors was noticeable. Staff seemed friendly, Car parking good. Reception poorly manned & keys we noticed just left hanging there. Room for much improvement. It could be done. It has potential. One night is all I could stand, but then Im particular on hygiene.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 children aged 5 yrs & 8 yrs. It was a handy location, 5 mins walk to the main street and lots of off street parking. Our first choice had been the Knockendarroch Hotel (located close by) but they didn't cater for children under 12 yrs. We booked the Rosemount Hotel via one of these last minute online websites and I must admit we were a tad nervous after seeing some reasonably poor reviews on Trip Advisor but we were pleasantly surprised. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They were good with the kids and even introduced them to one of their besutiful dogs (Jackson).
We had room 15 which had a bedroom, bathroom and wee sitting room - it had everything required of a room and decorated in a much more modern style than the hotel itself. Our bed was very comfortable and the staff had set up two fold-out beds with lovely crisp white linen for the kids. The bathroom was very modern and clean.
The breakfast staff (I think the girls' name was Mirrabella) was very friendly and breakfast was of a high standard, with a good choice of cooked options including baked beans, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, sausages, black pudding, eggs....
We didn't eat at the hotel at night as we were out exploring until late both nights.

We stayed for 1 night here and it was great! The hotel is in a quiet location, but about a 5 minute walk from the main street of Pitlochry. Our room (4) was nice, the bed was so comfortable, and our dog enjoyed sitting on his bed looking out the window!
Breakfast was fabulous! It was a hot and cold buffet, and had plenty to choose from, I'm vegetarian and there was plenty to satisfy me.
The hotel is upgrading the decor at the moment, and I think it will be even better then. The one gripe was there was no free standing shower in our room, it was hand held.
Overall, I'd recommend it, friendly helpfull staff, they accept dogs, the bed was wonderfully soft and the breakfast was devine!

Spent an enjoyable two nights at this hotel. Warm welcome on arrival and found our accommodation both suitably spacious and decorated to a good standard. Room and bedding spotless. Ate one night in the restauarant and would highly recomend sampling the various dishes on offer. Staff extremely polite and helpful at breakfast and dinner, as were the owners and receptionst (including a cuddly welcome from Oscar the delightful German Shepherd) Will certainly be recommending this hotel to both family and friends.

I travelled with my partner for an overnight stay in Pitlochry and this was one of the cheaper hotels within the town, all the cheapest hotels and B&B's are quite far out - Blairgowrie etc.
We booked the Rosemount Hotel on LateRooms.com and it was £6 cheaper than booking via the hotel website. We paid £82 for 1 night, doubel room, breakfast included.
The hotel was quite easy to find if you have a car, just follow the helpful signs dotted around the town which point you in the right direction.
Upon arrival it was good to see plenty car parking space available and the man at the reception was very friendly, chatty and gave us lots of information - you can have dinner in the hotel restraunt but you're best to book your meal in advance as it can take around 30 minutes for your meal to be cooked. We didn't eat here but the menu looked very nice.
The hotel is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside but don't be fooled - the standard double room was tiny! It's one of the smallest rooms i have ever stayed in, even rooms in Europe are bigger than here! The room was modern and the bathroom was a good size. Very clean and had all the extras you want - tea & coffee facilities, TV, clean towels. One big let down was being able to hear your neighbours banging doors, walking about in the corridoors as the floorboards are extremely creaky and the walls are so thin you can hear people snoring in the next room!
Breakfast in the morning was nice - a big variety of continental and hot food in a buffet style which was very fresh and the staff continually checked on it.
For a 3 star, double room with breakfast, the size of the room definitely let the place down and was not worth £41 per person but it was a pleasant stay.
