“Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2013

Came here last spring for a week. Lovely setting, so lush, even if it was rainy/misty all week. Good disabled facilities, I am a wheelchair user and I found it very comfotable. Lovely staff very helpful and pleasant.

I would say that this hotel attracts a very mature clientelle. At 29 I felt extremely young, but very nice residents too. The food is very good, breakfast espescially, so much choice. As a vegetarian I found the evening meal choices a little unimaginative. However the meat eatets liked their choices. There are plenty of places to go in the surrounding are for food.

Room Tip: Could be quite warm n the bedrooms.

Dear NBr_13,

Spring 2012 seems a long time ago, but thank you for thinking back and posting a very kind review.

Delighted to read that you found the disabled facilities up to scratch, though any suggestions would be much appreciated. We have a range of items designed to help that we have purchased over the years, though how to advertise their existence isn't always easy.

Thanks for bringing up your point about the vegetarian options, especially for dinner. We have introduced an expanded range of diabetic desserts to meet this growing demand, so we will do the same for our vegetarian options. Again, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

We hope that you are getting the best of the winter weather, and we look forward to welcoming you all again at some point in the future.

Best regards,

Alistair ( McMenemie )

We have been several times with labradors and dachshunds. Welcomed and fussed over (not in public rooms). It seems as thoguh small noisy children are not allowed in public rooms, either!
The rooms have large, comfy beds and bathrooms with room for cat swinging. Two lifts; ramps and ground floor rooms for wheelchairs. Excellent restaurant with varied menus; dinner changes every day. If you are going to the theatre, there is a special early dinner, and a coach there and back. Staff very friendly and ever helpful. Telephone and TV.
Most rooms have panoramic views along Loch Faskally.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently updated room with good view over the loch.

Dear gm8apx,

Thank you so much for your continued patronage of the Green Park, and for going to the trouble of posting your review. To date I don't think we have ever had a complaint from a dog, though I think those cats that have stayed would object to your proposed use for them!

Our good luck with the weather continues, in that while the views from the lounges are of spectacular snow covered hillsides, everywhere else is mercifully clear. My days of snow clearing are clearly numbered, judging by my most recent paltry efforts - the younger members of our staff can take over in future.

Thanks once again for your continued support, and for your kind review.

Best regards,

We have always enjoyed our visits to this hotel, and this year was no exception. We had a ground floor room overlooking the loch, and the level of comfort was wonderful. A card, a bottle of bubbly and chocolates awaited us (we were celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary) and there was a lovely coating of snow to enhance the view from the window. The quality and selection of food is a delight, and a great deal of thought has gone into planning special touches to ensure an enjoyable stay. The wine list is comprehensive and realistically priced and all the staff are warm, cheerful, polite and helpful. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - go and you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis and offer different aspects, all good! Ask...

Dear Nina M,

Many thanks for taking the time to post a lovely review - your very generous comments are much appreciated, as is your continued support of the Green Park.

Here at the hotel, we have a group of Scrabble players staying and today is prize giving day, so the air is full of mental energy at the moment. They really are a very nice group, even to the point where they try and help each other - even though they are playing against each other. Clearly Scrabble is a game that brings out the best in people.

We look forward to welcoming the two of you again in the future, and thank you once again for posting your review.

Best regards,

We booked dinner bed and breakfast as we were going to Pitlochry Festival Theatre. I was anxious about how they were going to get a meal out in time for a 7 o' clock deadline. Not only did the food arrive in a timely fashion but there were four delicious courses served slickly by their superb team of waiting staff. This country house hotel has a stunning setting on the banks of the river Tay. Everywhere exudes comfort and calm. The bedroom was well appointed the bathroom was well stocked with good quality toiletries. I was sorry we had to rush off to the theatre as I could easily have relaxed and just enjoyed being there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing river for the wonderful view. Grab a river view table for dining.

Dear Middleton4,

Many thanks for joining us at the Green Park, and delighted to read that you were able to get to "White Christmas" in time for the curtain going up. It really is a great show, and has been this seasons big success for the Festival Theatre.

I am hoping to see it for a second time this evening, though this will depend on Diane choosing to invite me - not something it would be wise to bet the farm on!

Thank you once again for a very generous review, and we look forward to welcoming the two of you again.

Checked in here on spec after walking out of another hotel!

Booked in for 1 night and ended up staying for 2!

The hotel offers a room, dinner bed and breakfast rate

We have stayed in some pretty spectacular hotels around the World and have to say that the level of service, quality of food, at the Green Park has not been yet been surpassed.

Our room was spotless and lovely touches like complimentary sherry before dinner and binoculars in the room (spectacular views) just add to the feeling you are in a hotel which really cares about its guests.

Can't praise the place more.... and, we are pretty hard to please!!

11 out of 10!! and we will be back.

Dear pitliver,

Sorry to hear that your original plans fell through, but delighted that the two of you chose to join us at Pitlochry and the Green Park. Your score is more than generous!

Did you go to White Christmas at the Festival Theatre while you were with us ? It really has been a great success, with most of the performances playing to full houses. With one organisation and another, my daughter Megan will have seen the show four times by the end of its run.

Thanks once again for your visit, and we hope to welcome the two of you again in the future.

We are just back from a wonderful 3 days at the Green Park Hotel. Everything was exceptional. The staff were all warm, polite, friendly and helpful. Our room warm and comfortable with everything we could wish for and a beautiful view across the Loch. I had informed the hotel that we were coming for a special birthday, and when we arrived in our room there was a lovely bottle of wine, with a card compliments of the hotel. What a wonderful start! The food is exceptionally good - no effort seems to be spared to serve delicious and attractive dinners. The same with breakfast. We are usually rushing around and it was a treat to be able to relax and be looked after so well. We will definitely be back again!

Dear P C S,

Thank you very much for choosing to join us for three nights, and delighted to read that your special birthday stay was a success. Your very generous review is much appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming the two of you again in the future.

Birthdays for me have long ago lost their special appeal, and surely one man can only use so many socks and ties in a lifetime. My wife and kids please take note.

We had our Wedding Anniversary dinner here last night and it was a night to remember. We were greeted by the owner and receptionist who were very welcoming, we were offered free sherry in the lounge whilst we perused the menu and wine list. The choice of the 4 course meal was excellent and it was difficult to decide but we both were delighted with what we had. We washed it all down with an excellent and very reasonable bottle of Spanish red. The menu changes every day so everything is fresh which is a change from most hotels around. We would like to commend the Chef for his food and the presentation which would have put many top hotels to shame. The waiting staff were attentive but unobtrusive and did their job perfectly. A very big THANK YOU to Alistair and his team for giving us a lovely experience.

Dear leomar84,

Many thanks for your dinner review, and delighted to read that your wedding anniversary went without incident. Clearly I could take lessons from the two of you, as Diane continues to give me a
( very ) unsatisfactory report card when it comes to wedding anniversary celebrations - or any other anniversary event for that matter.

Thank you also for dividing your loyalties between here and Jimmy at the Logierait Inn !
