As a non-whiskey drinker and individual traveller I was not too sure what to expect on a guided tour. But it is worth while a visit. The guide Collin was very knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. Great way to learn lots about whiskey.

Although it is called Blair Athol Distillery it is on the main road through Pitlochry. Plenty of parking is available outside, but I don't know what it would be like in the height of summer. When we visited there were only 6 of us in the group taken on the tour and we all lived in Scotland. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. One member of our group had visited a distillery and was a bit of a know it all but our guide wasn't phased by his attitude.

Although I am not a whisky drinker (handy when you need a driver) a appreciated the hour long tour and learnt a lot about the different types of whisky and how it is made. A dram was poured at the end of the tour as a sample, and it wasn't a small dram either. My partner appreciated my glass as much as his own! The tour wasn't dear and there was a discount of a bottle of the Blair Athol whisky in the shop which sold it at a much cheaper price than elsewhere locally any way.
