We took our holiday in Scotland for the third year in a row and booked Knockendarroch House for our last three nights because of the great times we had there in 2010 and 2011. We truly felt like we were returning to our "home away from home" in Scotland. There simply are not enough superlatives to describe the job that Liz and the Knockendarroch team do to make every guest feel welcome in this very up-scale "small" hotel. The Knockendarroch experience just gets better every year. The rooms are simply fabulous. The residents lounge is a wonderfully comfortable place to meet the other guests and enjoy a wee dram from the great selection of single malts in the corner cabinet. And the food - both breakfast and dinner - is to die for. We will be back in 2013! Thanks to Liz, Mar and the rest of the team for another fabulous experience.

Dear BristolTennessee, Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. It really is a pleasure to know that you feel 'at home' here (and I know there are some similarities!). Thank you also for introducing your friends to our restaurant. Best wishes from me, Mar and the rest of the team and we look forward to seeing you both again next year!

Five of us (all gents on a fishing trip) visited this hotel for two nights and to be honest everything was outstanding and not one of us could fault it in any way. I visit Pitlochry every two years or so and have now found my place to stay in the future and I cannot wait to take the wife. Location was great - 5 mins walk to the town centre and it looked like the hotel had conveniently placed three pubs every 4 minutes on the walk down to the Salmon Ladder where we watched a fisherman land a salmon before i even finished my pint in the third pub!

Food was fantastic, breakfast was top notch and you must try the black pudding even if you do not like the stuff as it was great. Dinner again was pretty much perfect and to be quite honest the best meal I have had in Scotland for years so well done to a great team (the black pudding was available from the butchers you pass on the way into town).

Staff were exceptional and attentive at all times but never intrusive and great fun. It was great to meet Liz the owner on the morning we left and again she was a pleasure to talk to. Even down the pub (the one with the waterwheel) one of the girls who worked in the hotel popped over and said hello as she was on her night off which was a nice touch. By the way, the staff in the pub and the food were great too!

All three rooms differed and each had its own little unique touch which was great, they were exceptionally clean and all furnishings were of an excellent quality. Showers were great also which is nice to see in an old house hotel.

If you like trout fishing, Butterstone is 15 miutes away and is loch fishing from boats, very professional and quality of fish was second to none, two of us caught 10lb fish!

Pitlochry is great place to visit and it should be a no brainer where to stay and eat!

Dear 'muirp', Thank you for your fantastic review of your stay at the Knockendarroch. We are delighted that you enjoyed the food, the rooms and the service as those are the three things that we try to get right for all of our guests. It's great that you enjoyed the town too, and even better that two of you caught a matching pair of 10 pound trouts! It was great fun having you all stay and it would be lovely to see you again.
Best wishes, Liz and the Knockendarroch Team

Just returned from 2 nights here. This is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The lounge area is so comfortable and relaxing, with the chance to meet other guests, and the decor is top notch.
Liz and her team are so friendly and helpful and make you feel so welcome, service was excellent.
Our evening meal was very good, with a lovely ambience in the dining room.
The breakfast was first class - how nice to receive a hot plate, with hot food - very high standard.
Our room was on th 3rd floor (good exercise!) with a small balcony and fantastic views. Spotlessly clean, fresh and airy.
We asked to view other rooms, as we will definately return and the ones we saw were so beautiful. All individually decorated and beautifully presented. See you soon.

Have just returned from a two night stay at the Knockendarroch House Hotel. My wife and I had decided at the last minute that we needed a wee break and on the advice of a friend we booked a short stay here and we are glad we did. The rooms were very comfortable, and we experienced both standard and superior rooms. The standard room was extremely well appointed and spacious but lacking the fantastic views of the similarly appointed superior room 4. The food was excellent with varied menus on both nights and the staff could not have been more attentive in a very helpful and friendly way. The public lounge with the open log fires was extremely comfortable too. Our very short visit to this most comfortable and friendly hotel will hopefully be repeated soon.

Spent two nights DBB at Knockendarroch and booked on basis of great reviews. We were not dissapointed, it lived up to our best expections. Room on top floor with small balcony and great views to the river and South was modern with all facilities expected of a well run hotel. Dinner and breakfasts faultless. Will certainly return.
