“Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights from18th October. From the beginning until we left we could not fault the hotel or the staff. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped into reception. Our room classed as a standard room would put some executive rooms in other hotels to shame. It had the biggest bed ever and the bathroom was huge. The room also had lovely views over the hills and town. The food was truly scrumptious and both nights we waded through 3 courses, the breakfast was as good if not better than any breakfast I have had. The staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble at all. The lounge was so relaxing it felt like home. I will recommend this hotel and we will be back again to stay, my only gripe was having only booked for 2 nights and having to leave. Thank you to all the staff at the knockendarroch hotel we look forward to seeing you again in th near future

Dear Sharon 1804, We are glad you enjoyed your recent stay with us and found the room to be to your satisfaction. It was lovely to see you both enjoy the different aspects of the area (despite the rain), and we would love to welcome you back at some future date!
Best wishes

We chose to stay at the Knockendarroch House Hotel based on the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed.
We stayed for 3 nights from 14th October, and whole duration of our stay we were treated as welcomed guests by a team of friendly and caring staff who helped make our stay so enjoyable.
We were in one of the balcony rooms which was very comfortable and well appointed. This room overlooked the town of Pitlochry but with a good view of the hills and countryside beyond the town.
With regard to catering - both breakfast and dinner were first class. Good chice, well cooked, well presented and correctly portioned as far as we were concerned.
We also enjoyed relaxing in the lounge, where refreshments or drinks could be ordered throughout the day. The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches can be recommended.
Our only disappointment was that our time at the Knockendarroch passed too quickly.

Room Tip: A balcony room offers good views but be aware that is on the second floor if you have mobility issue...

We stayed here across the weekend of our first wedding anniversary and my birthday, so it was a treat to be looked after so well by all the team at the Knockendarroch!!

The food (breakfast and dinner) are high quality and use locally sourced produce. Having eaten here on a previous visit to Pitlochry we were pleased to see that standards are being maintained.
The public rooms are very well appointed and the log fire was a real draw in the evening as you have a little cheeky one before dinner!!

Our bedroom was a balcony room, which had a fantastic view across the town and the beautiful countryside which surrounds it.

Everything to recommend and nothing to criticise....seems to sum the Knockendarroch up.

Dear MichaelO36, We are so glad you enjoyed your double celebration at the Knockendarroch, and that the log fires enhanced a "little cheeky one" before dinner! Thank you for recommending us.

The Knockendarroch hardly needs another 5 star review..but you know what, it is totally deserved. Just back from a trip with family and our two night stay was fabulous. Staff are truly great, so helpful and friendly, and the rooms immaculate. There is a nip in the air the last few days so those log fires every night were great! We stayed in the two balcony rooms which offered beautiful views. The food was the highlight. Breakfasts were great and dinner exceptional. What we loved was that the chef takes a quality main ingredient, be it lamb, pork or whatever and puts things with it which complement the meat or fish rather than over-complicate the plate (I hate the myriad of clashing flavours which you so often find in many places when chefs try to be too clever). The portion sizes here are also perfect so you can enjoy the full three courses without feeling like you have swallowed a whale! We also loved Smudge..the owner's very vocal cat who..although not allowed inside the main hotel..takes pleasure in greeting any feline loving guests every time you venture out the door. We will be back.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms were lovely if you don't mind a wee climb and narrower stairs.

We stayed in this lovely hotel on the night of my husband's 60th birthday, and had birthday dinner in the elegant Dining Room. The meal was delicious and beautiful - the best of our trip to Scotland - including meals in a couple of pretty pricey restaurants in big cities. Our room was lovely, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. Pitlochry is a lovely town and the hike to Eldradour - the "smallest distillery in Scotland" was gorgeous and fun,
