“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed 28 September 2010

We are just back from a 2 night family break. I booked our family reunion here for 51 people, a mixture of old and young family members. We had a fantastic time, service, food, staff, cleanliness were all 5 star service. We had dinner on both nights and could not fault anything. I also had spa treatments booked for a few of us and these were great. I want to take this opportunity to thank hotel manager Peter, Lisa, Karolina, night porter's and all other staff for putting up with us all, and also thank them for doing a wonderful job. You have done us proud. We will hopeully see you all again soon.

Very disappointed in Crerar. Would recommend staying at Fishers' Hotel which is run but not owned by Crerar as have full use of Spa which was main reason for booking. Spa Therapist good but may not be staying.
Decor - old fashioned & chintzy. Woodchip wallpaper painted a rather putrid peach colour. Threadbare stair carpets. Looked as if someone had had a fight with bathroom door. Function room being used as restaurant and everyone crammed in, seats back to back in parallel rows. Various bus tours which also meant when they were in you were best not to be. Staff attitude not great felt waitress more interested in having smoke breaks than serving and overhead several staff say they were looking for other jobs.
Would recommend eating in Bistro although have to pay extra for a la carte much better service and ambience.

Dear guest, I was so sorry that you felt we did not meet up to your expectations here at Scotland's and was surprised you felt the decor here at the hotel needed updating.
Crerar Hotels have recently replaced all televisions refurbished all of our bedroom stock, our Bistro and Bar Area and our constantly investing in upgrading Scotland's Hotels. All I would ask is that you possibly return in the near future to allow for me to show you all of our recent improvements as I am sure you that all of our upgrades have been carried out to impress and enhance the guest expense.
I look forward to your reply
Kind Regards Peter McClurg General Manager

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The service and food in the restaurant was first class. We will certainly make a return visit.

We were pleasantly surprised when we recently stayed for my mother-in-law,s 80th birthday. The room was clean, well decorated and had a good view. The food was very good , loved the tart tatin.
Staff were helpful and breakfast good. The haggis in the breakfast was very good.
We enjoyed our stay. The gym was Ok-some machines not working. The pool, sauna and steam room were very good.
The hotel bar was not as good. Quite open and not very welcoming as a place to sit. The hotel has a sports bar too but we did not try it. Also mattress on our bed very hard!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my friend on a dinner bed and bfst rate. The room was very clean and well decorated, with nice fluffy towels and comfortable beds. We had our reservations due to reviews posted on trip advisor, however we took these with a pinch of salt. The new Manager seems to be working very hard to raise standards in this property and I would say he is succeeding. The food was fairly good on the inclusive deal my only criticism would be that if you wanted to select from the a la carte menu the supplements were exeptionally high, in all cases in the region of 80% of the price of the dish. When you had already purchased a £19.95 menu in your inclusive deal I would have expected the supplements to be more reasonable. In the main the staff were very pleasant in particular Chloe in the spa and Stan who worked nights. A few minor irritations with service such as butter missing off the breakfast table and no teaspoons but these were quickly remedied with a smile from the staff. Service in the restaurant was very quick and with a little more attention to detail, anticipating guests needs and checking that they have everything they need it will be very slick. The pool was very relaxing and the spa treatments were fantastic. Keep up the good work.

The service at this hotel was perfect, staff were very attentive and friendly.

The room was very nice, we stayed in the annex which was very well kept and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was superb extensive choice, all items were very fresh and well prepared with Dinner being the same each evening of our stay! I would throughly recommend staying at this hotel for any occassion.

The General Manager and his staff all have to been thanked for making our stay very pleasant!!

The location was perfect, Pitlochry is a lovely little town and the hotel is well placed to use as a base for travelling around the area.

We stayed in this hotel only for one night but I cannot complain. The room was quite nice with a very nice view. Parking was available. 2 small things to comment about:-
1. breakfast was very basic, not such a big choice
2. I paid cash but was charged from the credit card as well (manager replied immediately about the matter)
