We booked the 3 night Hogmanay package at The Pine Trees and had a truly wonderful time. We ate superb food, were provided with great entertainment and met some lovely people during our stay. The hotel is warm and welcoming, as is the staff, and we cannot praise the service we received highly enough. All meals were excellent and the staff were attentive and polite, not just during dinner but at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The 'lounge' area, with a huge log fire at its core, is so comfortable and relaxing it just feels like home. Being just a five minute walk from Pitlochry town centre is a bonus too.

in beautiful location just above pitlochry, the hotel is a very relaxing and welcoming location.
roaring log fire, lots of seating, the public spaces are very comfortable. Service very efficient and friendly, and food much improved from previous visit some years ago- though given the statement that local produce was used, it was disappointing to see only english cheeses on the menu. Excellent breakfast. Room was well equipped, and nicely furnished, but some of the flowers wer plastic in the room and hallways, though at the dinner table they were real. Well stocked bar, and overall a friendly relaxing stay

Pine Trees Hotel is perfectly situated in Pitlochry on the hill overlooking this lovely town. It is a real country hotel with lots of wood panelling, thick carpets, comfy leather sofas and a roaring fire in the lounge. The room was good with a lovely view over the grounds. Breakfast was lovely, enhanced by attentive and professional service.

We have just returned from a 4th visit to this hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. We often take short breaks of 1 or 2 nights in Perthshire and we have tried other similarly priced hotels and they just do not compare to the personal service and attention to detail that Pine Trees delivers. We have stayed in a few different rooms in the hotel and every one has been immaculate in cleanliness and decor. The beds are comfortable and the food is always to a very high standard. Every member of the staff that we have dealt with has been both polite and friendly and no request is ever any trouble. It is so relaxing to sit by the log fire with your after dinner coffee and just relax. We have already booked our next trip and look forward to many more!

We stayed at Pine Trees on a late November night and it turned out to be just what we were looking for. Public rooms with comfortable old fashioned furniture, mahogany lined walls, subdued lighting. A great place to snuggle down with a good book or newspaper. The meal was good and the staff most attentive. The room was large and well furnished; the ensuite very modern. The whole place was very clean and we look forward to going back in the Spring for some golf or some walking.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for an upgrade - really worth it.

We went up on a Sunday for 1 night on a Groupon/KGB style deal which I had grabbed as the hotel had been recommended - we normally say at the Moulin a mile or so away whan we go to Pitlochry. The hotel is lovely, the setting quite beautiful and the breakfast was delicious - that said however, we would not go back in a hurry. We were met by a Scottish receptionist who was decidedly grumpy about the deal and the amount of work it had generated - I felt almost like a second class citizen. We were shown to our room and served breakfast by two very pleasant eastern european staff members who could certainly have given the receptionist lessons in customer service and charm. The room was at the back of the hotel in the attic, very small, dark and ordinary. We had been advised that the hotel was practically empty that night, however when we enquired at reception about the possibility of moving to a larger room, possibly with a view of the hills, we were advised that the deal specified only a standard room and that we would have to pay full price for an upgrade. We were also advised that we would only get the bottle of wine included in the deal if we ate dinner in the restaurant that night - not what I recall the voucher specifying. Having been made to feel like we were begging for favours, we declined to book dinner and instead went to our usual warm and welcoming haunt at Moulin for our evening meal. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and a shame as I would certainly have considered defecting to this hotel had they been more welcoming and offered one of their many empty superior rooms that night which would have left us with a much better taste in our mouths, keen and eager to go back and prepared to pay full price.

Room Tip: Avoid the standard rooms and certainly those on the second floor - small, dark and decidedly ordinar...

We stayed in the Pine Trees in August for our anniversary , what a lovely find it was , due to our travel plans we stayed in two different rooms during our stay . on our first night we stayed in a cosy traditional room on the upper floors , with a great view of the gardens , it was clean large and, had every amenity you required , on our second night we stayed in the new annex which had only opened the week before , this was luxury at its best , beautifully appointed and very modern but equally cosy .
We have stayed in many hotels over the years , and it would be hard to find a staff which are so attentive too your every need , immaculate in appearance and efficient in everything they did , we ate at the hotel on our first night and again it was to a very high standard as was breakfast in the morning , we look forward to staying at this hotel again in the future .

Room Tip: ask for the annex
