Third visit to this hotel which says it all. Excellent staff, nice room, good food and convenient for theatre.. Beautiful views from our room of the hills surrounding Pitlochry. Pity we could only stay one night..

I visited Pine Trees last week. My double room was rather small the effects of which were made worse by the inclusion of several rather large pieces of furniture. If the furniture were fitted into to space available it would seem much larger. There are larger rooms which I have had on previous occasions. The email confirming my reservation said the rooms available were all on the first floor (it said nothing about availability of second floor rooms so I assumed there were none). I assumed I would have one of the first floor rooms, but in fact it was on the second floor. I would stay again, but would need to discuss my requirements direct with the hotel before doing so. Booking via an agent here does not necessarily produce a good room.

Otherwise the hotel is very nice and relaxing; the staff friendly. Dinner was good value @ £20 for a three course meal. Breakfast was good.

Room Tip: Wifi is only available at present in the main building not the new annex. There are a number of new...

Our room was a bit on the small side, but this was compensated for by the several large, comfortable sitting rooms that were great places for relaxing and meeting other guests. The room's air system didn't work quite as it was supposed to, but luckily the windows opened wide and let plenty of fresh, cool air in for a good, quiet sleep. The breakfast was made to order and excellent. We enjoyed the hotel's location and beautiful grounds, and found it was a good base from which to walk to adjacent villages or up into the hills. The wifi signal was a little marginal - at times it worked from our room, but we usually had to move into one of the sitting rooms to get reception.

Stayed here for four nights at the end of June. The hotel has lots of comfy chairs to collapse into after a hard day exploring the surrounding area. Our twin room was a good size and had two chairs with a small table. Pity the TV didn't get all the Freeview channels that we were used to. Breakfast was freshly cooked (including the toast) with a good choice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at The Pine Trees on two prior occasions and look forward to doing so again. This time we stayed in a standard twin, which was clean and tidy, if just a little on the small side. The beds were comfy and I woke each morning refreshed. The bathroom had a powerful shower placed over a bath, not my favourite thing; but acceptable. What was a little odd that the room staff kept turning off the heated towel rail.
However, the real reason to stay here is the high standard of the food. We dined here twice, on the second evening having truly masterful trout served with vanilla sauce and almonds. It sounds wrong but tasted so good, I would perhaps preferred more almonds and sauce but that is not a fault of the dish. Desserts were also divine, the Cointreau and Chocolate dessert especially yummy.

Room Tip: A superior Twin room would give more space.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this hotel. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Our room was clean and the entire hotel was full of character with plenty of common areas to relax in luxury. It is also close to town within walking distance although it is on a hill and can be a challenge for some.
