The Pine Trees hotel is exceptionally well placed in a quiet area above Pitlochry but within easy walking distance of the town. The hotel has interesting historical associations; the rooms and furnishings are very attractive; the service was exemplary; and the food extremely good. Even if Pitlochry and its surroundings were not so beautiful, a stay at the hotel would be memorable.

It was a lastminute decision for my husbands birthday would we choose the Atholl Palace with spa or The Pine Trees Hotel after checking reviews for both I decided on The Pine Trees. I knew I had made the right decision when we drove up the drive and seen the hotel a beautiful country house on entering the smell of burning open fires on a cold crisp day was welcolming. The decor and furnishing where in keeping with the period of the house my husband nodded in approval and said beautiful. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay it had the biggest most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We had dinner in the restaurant it was excellent but the jewel in the crown for this hotel is its amazing wonderful lovely staff they are fantastic very very attentive without being overbearing they cater for your every whim and make you feel very very relaxed and pampered they are the jewel in the crown for this hotel. After dinner we relaxed in the lounge with coffee and mints beside the biggest roaring log fire it was sublime. After playing numerous complimentary board games we both agreed who needs spa facilities and large hotels this hotel is small intimate friendly, full of charm and history, atmospheric and has the best staff we have ever came across and we have stayed in few large hotels the hiltons, cameron house but this wins hands down with service. Oh and on leaving pitlochry we checked out the Atholl Palace we made the right choice we will return.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pine Trees Hotel, having been there in December for two nights. We enjoyed it thoroughly and returned again in March. We were not disappointed in that the service and food was as pefect as first time around. There is great ambience in the Hotel, particulary sitting around the log fire. The staff are excellent and having stayed in many hotels we can honestly say this is the best service we have ever received. Great value for money, will certainly return.

We have stayed twice now at the Pine Trees and it is such a relaxing hotel. Lovely gardens, amazing food and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. It seems to run very efficiently and smoothly - I really can't find fault with it at all! We have stayed in many hotels, in this country and abroad but would recommend the Pine Trees unreservedly. Looking forward to our next visit!

Just returned from our fourth weekend stay at The Pine Trees. On every occasion we have received the same high standards of service, food and cleanliness. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they are attentive without being intrusive. It is great to see many of the same staff almost 3 years after our first visit.
The food is excellent and the rooms are spotless. We will be returning as soon as possible and would reccomend Pine Trees without hesitation.

What can I say about this jewel of a hotel? We have stayed there on many occasions and found the hotel, the management and the staff to be just quite exceptional. The lady who runs the hotel is calmness personified. The food is exquisite and the staff in the dining room and bar are smart, polite and most attentive..... a joy really. We have stayed in several different rooms in this hotel and found all of them to be very comfortable. The furniture is mainly traditional ,fitting in with the ambience of the house. Yes the hotel allows pets, and while I am not "over the moon" about dogs, I have never found any guest, with dogs, to be intrusive in any way and indeed I have found them to be very considerate to other guests. The burning log fire in the lounge is a joy to sit around on the cooler Autumn and Winter nights. There is an ample supply of board games and reading material should guests wish to make use of them. I have always found there was a good mix of guests, both young and old, and generally mixing well. There is a long drive up to the front of the hotel, with ample parking space and it is all set in a nice secluded location only a short distance from Pitlochry town centre. My only other comment would be, it may not (at the moment) be suitable for disabled or wheelchair bound guests as there are 2 or 3 steps at the front door, all the bedrooms are upstairs and there is no lift. We always enjoy this hotel and find it a very relaxing place in all seasons..............Traveller Tayside

We (myself and friends) have stayed at the Pine Trees around six times over the last few years and every time have experienced a relaxing, quality break. The hotel is a traditional Victorian hunting lodge - beautifully maintained. The rooms are all different and the size of the room reflects the availiblility and price. I have stayed in the more roomy doubles the to side and the front and the more 'cosey' attick rooms but each time the rooms have been extreemly well maintained, clean and an enjoyable place to relax and spend time. The lounge, with open fire, and bar area are a great place to read, play games or just relax and enjoy company - or to dry off after a long (wet) walk. The service has always been exceptional. The staff are evidently happy, get along well and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It is clear they enjoy working and living there. The food - excellent. All food was fresh, expertly cooked and Scottish produce. This hotel is perfect if want to relax and is not for those who seek lively entertainment. Love it - am planning another trip this Easter!
