“Weekend away”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

Stayed for 2 nights DBB and went to matinee performance at theatre with family members. Overall it was an enjoyable break with clean, warm rooms and excellent service from friendly staff. Only minor issues/complaints was that it was the same menu for dinner for both nights and that tea/coffee is not included with the dinner. We did pay for coffee but there were no mints! But otherwise a great place to stay!

6 of us had a great 3 day break,no one had any complaints about the hotel, good food, drink and entertainment, only thing was you have to go to Perth for the nearest bookmakers as there is not one in Pitlochry.

We spent 2 days here and were very impressed by the friendly, efficient service and warm welcome, beginning with a complimentary sherry or whisky. The room, while not luxurious was perfectly acceptable although the bed was rather hard. The best thing about this hotel is not its central location or excellent breakfast but its staff from the smiling, helpful receptionist to the manager, Kieran who gave us a lift to the theatre when he heard us enquiring about transport. This kind of attention to guests' needs mean many return visits are on the cards!

A solo traveller will find this hotel ticks most boxes. Fisher's has a lovely atmosphere of tradition and friendliness. High ceilings, wide corridors, spacious lounges and fascinating architecture. I stepped off my train from King's Cross, walked a few yards from the platform, across the station service road, through the back garden gate, along a thirty yard gravel path and I was in this truly Scottish residence. Complimentary sherry or whisky ( sadly, not the local Edradour ) was offered by an amiable receptionist. I stayed for bed, breakfast and evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I loved walking out of the hotel straight into the activities of Atholl Road, where the shopper is spoilt for choice. Luxury and quality goods abound and anti-blister packs and replacement walking socks were instantly available. Helpful and knowledgeable staff made my four night stay memorable and happy.

Just home from a delightful two nights stay. I had to congratulate the Manager on the quality overall. Very helpful and attentive staff. Food choice extensive, well cooked and presented. We were impressed by the equally extensive gluten free menu, a bonus for one of our group who can struggle for choice most times eating out.

All three of us plan to return with family/friends. I can find no fault with Fishers.

Room Tip: Garden rooms quieter.

Really friendly receptionist to greet me, offer me complimentary sherry or whisky and tell me all about the hotel's facilities. Great room with all mod cons. Kettle, mug (I don't like cups!), coffee - regular and decaf, tea - regular and fruit flavoured, sugar, milk and shortbread :-) Hairdryer in the room - next to a mirror, a light and a socket (Holiday Inn take note!!). Comfy bed with spare pillow available and a warm duvet. Big bathroom with plenty of hot water, towels and complimentary toiletries. Very comfortable night's sleep. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

I felt that the food let it down. My chips were under-done, my macaroni was learning to swim in a watery sauce and it was garnished with a huge sprig of parsley! Breakfast wasn't any better - chewy sausages, dry black pudding, tasteless haggis and fatty bacon with a huge sprig of parsley!

I would definitely stay again, but would probably eat out at dinner time and stick to a continental breakfast or poached eggs on toast in the morning.
