The two of us were looking for a place convenient for the railway station in Pitlochry, and Fisher's had a good offer. Could not have been handier: immediately opposite the station entrance is Fisher's "Railway Garden" and in through the back door. Reception is friendly and thoughtful: my wife and I were allocated a ground floor room (I am on crutches), and our daughter and son-in-law (arriving by car) were allocated the adjacent room. This Victorian era hotel has quite a few comfortable lounges and a very pleasant atmosphere; having finished the booking in process, we were given choice of a whisky or sherry to settle in with, after which we were helped with our luggage down to our room, which had a view out over a pleasant garden area. We booked dinner and, though initially concerned that we might be neat for time before attending the evening reception of the wedding for which we were in Pitlochry, service was very smart and friendly and, when our main courses arrived it was obvious that we could afford to relax over our meals and enjoy them. We had three courses plus coffee, and everything was excellent. Reception had ordered us a taxi to take us to the wedding. We arrived back just on midnight with Fisher's still open, and there is a Night Porter. It was quite cool during the night and, though we did not use it, there is room...The two of us were looking for a place convenient for the railway station in Pitlochry, and Fisher's had a good offer. It was quite cool during the night and, though we did not use it, there is room heating which you can switch on yourself. We had a splendid breakfast; apart from service of tea or coffee to your table, it is a buffet offer: the cooked breakfast has a good selection, plus plenty of other breakfast standards. One thing which I had not anticipated was the possibility of having a whisky with my porridge - no extra charge! We were well set up for the day, and though checked out, the youngsters' car could still be left in the car park while we had a wander around Pitlochry before our departure; Fisher's is on the main street, with lots of attractive shops and facilities nearby. We hope to return to Pitlochry, and will be very happy to stay at Fisher's; the Staff is very friendly and genuinely concerned for your wellbeing.More
