Great place to stay!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Oct 2016
Beautiful small hostel, with friendly staff, nice rooms, and free tea and hot chocolate! You can use the dishes in the kitchen, kettle and cook for yourself. You can buy a breakfast in the morning for pennies. They make very nice scones. It's an excellent place to stay for a night or two if you want to visit Pitlochry. BTW The Spanish guy from Barcelona who worked at the reception (I think his name was Tony) went an extra mile whenever we needed anything. He should get a bonus!
Date of stay: August 2016
Room Tip: Choose a room with a view on the Main Street. We loved it at night. The further from the lounge...

Just home from another great 4 night stay at the Backpackers. Friendly staff and guests. Warm, clean, bright and homely hotel right in the heart of Pitlochry. I would never dream of staying anywhere else.

First of all: the staff was absolutely amazing!! He knew all of his guests by name (even if he struggled to remember but he tried :D) he was really willing to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. Pitlochry is a really small town but the hostel is worth a stay. Everything was clean, there was free coffee and chocolate and tea, the furnishing was really adorable. We actually booked two beds in a dorm, but the staff was sooo friendly he got us a seperate room for ourselves for the same price.

We spent one night in pitlochry as a group of three girls. We got a six-bed-room to ourselves cause it was not too busy. The hostel itseld is pretty lovely - clean and quiet enough as well as right on the main road. The showers were like little wardrobes - which was unusual but they are good. There are three things we need to mention. First the perfect breakfast scones. The night guard made them fresh before his shift and they were served in the morning - awesome. Second we had a little incident... one of us dropped her coat out of the window and it landed on a little room - where Toni from the hostel picked it up with a smile. And the third thing again is about Tony. We bumped into him the next day - after checking out -in the supermarket and we had been looking for some dough quite a while -which he heled us find again with a smile. So lovely hostel with great people and totally worth your money.
