Four of us had a wonderful stay at the Northlands B & B. We are from the states (California) and were traveling with our wonderful Scottish friends when we stayed at the Northlands. Pauline was our gracious, warm and fun-spirited hostess. We can't say enough about the accommodations and the never-to-be-forgotten breakfast. And the tales of the Haggis will remain a mysterious matter that I will not reveal here. We will leave it to other guests in the future to find out the Grand and Glorious Haggis Adventure that occurred between Pauline and me while we were visiting.
In summary, staying at the Northlands was an excellent highlight of our time in beautiful Scotland.

We have just enjoyed a fabulous weekend at Northlands! Found online, we were attracted by the beautiful decor and stunning looking rooms. We were not disappointed and feel that this B&B is so much better than any hotel we could have found. Pauline looked after us so well, and even went to the trouble of providing me with a thinner pillow! This was service above and beyond, and so much appreciated.
The breakfast was superb. A friendly and slick operation, beautifully cooked and of the highest quality.
We will be recommending Northlands to friends and family, and we'll remember our special weekend for a very long time to come. Thank you!

Pauline knows how to look after her guests. This isn't just Bed and Breakfast ---------- it is Pauline's Bed and Breakfast. We cannot praise her too much. From the welcoming nip of the local malt and millionaire shortbread to the pristine bedroom and bathroom this is how a B and B should be. Within minutes you feel as though you are a returning long lost friend, Pauline can't do enough for you. Breakfast is multiple choice, with more than you could possibly need. The local fare is laid out beautifully, fresh fruits, all local this time of year, smoked salmon, cereals etc. etc. Then you have a choice of cooked. Again too many choices to list, but if you want a really big breakfast, here it is. All freshly cooked for you. The attention to detail in everything is second to none. As a relative newcomer to B and B Pauline can justifiably claim she shows everyone else how it should be done and sets a standard that many top class hotels fail to achieve.

Room Tip: Only saw the one we stayed in but I am sure they are all tip top.

Late in the afternoon in early July, we came across an B&B sign that did not say "No Vacancy". As we entered the driveway, "wow" came naturally from our lips. Though there were several cars parked, we decided to ask none the less if there was space. We were greeted by Pauline with a warm smile and were informed "yes" there was room for us. She showed us the room and another low "wow" slipped out. She gave us ideas of where to eat, drink, walk and what to see for we still had several hours of daylight to enjoy.
Northlands is located just up the hill a wee bit (it is a very manageable walk) and the there is a supermarket on the way down to the high street, where there is a wide variety of stores and places to eat and drink. We strolled down to the river, saw the fish ladder and dam. Had a drink out on a patio and eventually strolled home. It was either the local scotch provided in the room, or the bed, or both, but I slept wonderfully.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I could have easily stayed longer but we had plans down the road.
The facilities are splendid. The property is very well maintained and cared for. Pauline is a natural, genuine host--she has clearly found her calling.
My daughter is hoping to return in August and if she can, she will be staying here for sure.

We stayed 3 nights in June. What a lovely place to stay. Pauline is a wonderful hostess taking care of all the details with out being to invasive. We were a little concerned having had some bad experiences with other B&B's in the past, Pauline has changed our point of view. Breakfast was amazing and kept us full until mid-afternoon. When we returned in the afternoon we were met with a pitcher of cold water and the decanter of scotch had been refreshed in our room. Her advice and assistance on travel was extremely helpful. The setting is beautiful and Pitlochary is a beautiful setting and is convenient to many other tourist attractions in Scotland. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed for 2 nights in Room 1. The photographs of that room on the web site had looked almost too good to be true, but they most certainly weren't! The room is huge, with a great view over the town and the countryside beyond. The bed is very big and very comfortable, and there are 2 very comfortable easy chairs. The room décor and furnishings are all recent and really beautiful and tasteful, and of a very high standard. The bathroom is enormous, with a roll top bath and a powerful entirely separate shower. The bath towels are far larger than we've every found anywhere else! And it was all spotless.

Each of the 2 nights Pauling provided a decanter with enough excellent local Bells whisky to fill the 2 shot glasses which accompanied it. There were also 2 small squares of delicious home-made millionaires shortbread.

And then what breakfasts! There was a large bowl of berries from Blairgowrie - the best I've ever tasted. The home-made rhubarb compote and home-made yoghurt were incredible. And that was before the cooked breakfasts with bacon, eggs, sausage, black pudding, potato scone, haggis and tomato. Everything was just perfect, including the eggs which I had poached. It's even worth mentioning the generous amount of lovely orange juice provided.

Over and above working all these wonders Pauline was incredibly helpful, sharing her extensive local knowledge.

As well as looking round Pitlochry and visiting the theatre to see the excellent Whisky Kisses musical we explored Blair Atholl, including the excellent coffee shop at the mill (which usually is working, but was not at that time because of the long dry spell), the grounds of Blair Castle (with the superb 11 acre walled garden), and had several enjoyable walks in the countryside in that area. All highly recommended.

But it was Northlands that really made our break, and we were very sad to leave.

Room Tip: Room 1 is to die for!

Our family of four had 2 rooms for one night at Pauline's delightful home. What a wonderful stay! Pitlochry is a lovely town--and Northlands was a wonderful place to stay. Pauline is a terrific hostess and she takes care of every detail thoughtfully. The rooms were perfect, breakfast was delicious, and her advice on where to go and what to avoid as we started our trip into the Highlands was spot on. Highly recommended!
