Great food and hospitality. Have stayed here before about 11 years ago when my husband, then boyfriend and I were on a weekend away. Now this was a few nights away celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and the first time we had abandoned our 5 year old daughter. The staff were fabulous as usual and the bar was bustling. Thanks to all for making our weekend.

It wont be a secret forever. It is best to visit in January for peace and quiet plus the best deals.

Stayed for 2 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. The room was comfortable and the hotel staff welcoming. The thing that spoiled the whole experince was the restaurant. It lacked any atmosphere and could definitely do with some background music when it isn't busy. The seating arrangements may be good during the Summer - facing out over the garden and stream, but in the Winter you are facing a blank, dark piece of glass and, with your back to the rest of the room, it feels like you've been put in the 'naughty corner'.
Sadly, the food wasn't up to much (generally overcooked) and would advise eating in the bar for a better atmosphere, warmth and food. The locally brewed beer is good too.

We had visited the moulin inn on two occasions before and loved the atmosphere, real ales, service and food. As we live about an hours drive away, we decided to stay in the hotel for a romantic night. The rooms are nice - a little dated but that all adds to the charm of the place. Our only slight issue was the dining experience - we decided to dine in the restaurant. The food was lovely but the atmosphere was a little odd. The decor was severely dated (past the point of being charming!), the lights were too bright and there was no music at all. There were only 2 other tables dining at the same time as us and the room was almost silent. We had to whisper our conversation to avoid letting everyone else in the room hear it. It was a little uncomfortable! The food was nice but a little expensive given the bizarre atmosphere. We would definitely go back but dine in the bar the next time.
The surrounding area is lovely and there is plenty to do if you have a car. Pitlochry is within walking distance but I think it is quite an uphill hike to get back!

Didn't stay at the hotel went to the pub next door for the beer which is brewed behind the inn and some food.
Got there about 730pm and found a table quite easy but by 830pm the pub was quite full
Tried all the beers that where on offer and all in good condition and had steak and ale pie with nice fluffy pastry on top, my partner had the veg chilli which she said was good for dessert i had rasperry crumble which was lovely.
Would like to return in future to visit the brewery at the back which does open but didn't while we was threre as the brewer was on holiday.

This is a delightful, small hotel situated in the charming village of Moulin just outside of Pitlochry. Pitlochry is a great base at the edge of the highlands - although the town itself is not very exciting. Rooms at the hotel look a bit dated now and are not great by any means, but they're comfortable and great value.

The local beers brewed by Moulin Brewery (across the street) are delicious, and the food - both in the pub and in the restaurant - is of a very decent quality and definitely good value.

This is a lovely hotel, an excellent stay for a walking weekend. The bar meal we had there was fantastic and the bar staff charming, the restaurant meal didnt quite live up to the bar, but was lovely. An endearing place to stay with creaky floorboards and olde worlde charm. We'll be back!!
