A typical Scots Victorian type hotel, half way up a hill and views over mountains. Imposing hotel, huge carpark. Very welcoming staff, helpful too. Big bedrooms, well heated, big bath, loads of very hot water.
Hotel was full, so meal times a bit regimented. Food was good and plentiful, waiting staff very friendly.
Pool a good size, and access not restricted.
WiFi in lounge a bit patchty, and slow. But it is surrounded by mountains!
Well worth a look around Pitlochry.

Hi there and what a fantastic review. A lot of customers have mentioned the friendliness of our staff and complimented us on our operation lately which means an awful lot to all of us. The team here prides itself on consistency and attention to detail and it is lovely when that is recognised.
Thanks a million for posting such a positive review and hopefully you will visit us again in the not too distant future.

Stayed here 22nd to 24th of Feb with my wife and mother. All of us found it a lovely clean relaxing hotel. Room was spacious with a excellent bed. Food was very very good, for both dinner aand breakfast. Friendly obliging staff. This hotel definitely made our weekend a very pleasant one in the Scottish highlands.

This is a very good hotel for money. We had £50.00 towards our bar bill and drinks prices are very reasonable, so you do not use your £50.00 to quickly. Free use of the swimming pool and spa is also included.

Room Tip: Room 126 has great views.

Hello there and thanks for a five star review....thats certainly cheered me up on a cold and frosty Perthshire morning. Having said that it is still stunning here today and will warm up a little later.
When customers feel this way about us it kind of makes it all worth while ....it definitely helps thats for sure.

We stayed here for two nights and were impressed from start to finish. Helpful, friendly staff; a comfortable room; good food; efficient pleasant service; great entertainment and a well equipped though small gym all helped to make this one of our best hotel experiences in recent years.

Hi, I am so pleased that our last few reviews have all been 5* and customers who post on trip advisor and speak to me in person all have such positive things to say.
All the team here work towards that standard and are very pleased to see that customers take the time to post their positive comments....I've said it before and I will say it again and again....comments like this boost morale and encourage us all.

Stayed on a Shearings Coach Holiday in early January 2013, we travelled by coach from Gateshead with Gordon as driver who was one of the best driver guide we have had on any Coach Holiday. We have no complaints about Coach or Shearings included and optional tours which were excellent, and even though our Coach broke down as we were scheduled to leave at the end of our holiday a replacement coach was sourced within 90 minutes;very impressed.
Our room although only a standard room was warm, comfortable very clean and well maintained, this was proved when a fault with our trouser press was reported and repaired in the time we were out on an 1/2 day excursion. However our friends had Room 8 which was also clean and comfotable but due to the heating being controlled by a movement sensor was often cold which was thier only area of complaint.
Evening meal in the Restaurant were excellent with the Table'D'Hote menu changed every day and included a Chefs Special, which together with the Breakfast were of excellent quality, well cooked and presented, very tasty and served by efficient friendly staff. The Lounge and the organised entertainment, together with the Pool and Leisure facillities were also excellent.
All in All every aspect of this stay at the Pitlocory Hydro Hotel and the Shearings Coach Holiday Exceeded our Expectations, we will be back !

Stayed on a Shearings 4 night AI arrangement early January 2013. Coach from Penrith and return was comfortable and efficient. Excellent pick up and drop off times. Hotel the best Shearings we have been at and we have been to all the Scottish ones now except Melrose and Oban. Lovely room - warm and spacious and quiet and well furnished. Lounges were also very usefully furnished and loads of room. Meals in the restaurant in the evening were of excellent quality and quantity ( a great improvement from our experience at Braemar in December when we left the table feeling distinctly hungry!) and were efficiently served but without the huge rush that you so often get at Shearings hotel restaurants. Breakfasts were pretty much the standard Shearings arrangement. We liked the half day trip to Blair Castle with included admission and the whole day to the distillery in Crieff and then on to Perth. Both were interesting and worthwhile. we also did a full day and half day hike direct from the hotel - loads of good walking paths and routes. Overall a pleasant experience and a good rest after catering for a large family Christmastime/New Year group ourselves for the previous 10 days.Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Excellent value for money.

Hello and thanks for your 5* review. Lots of customers are being very complimentary about our winter breaks and such a lot of you think that they are great value for money too.
I was about to pass on your kind words to our chef but he and his team had already seen this !! Everyone here is as keen as me to see reviews that our customers post it would seem.
Well thanks again and hope you come and visit again.
