I stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights in mid-November for his 30th Birthday. We wanted a relaxing getaway with our dog, to go walking, see the sights and to stay in a really good hotel. We weren't disappointed with East Haugh. We were welcomed by Lesley the owner, who had been very helpful whilst I was booking, trying to help me arrange for us to join a shoot and offering to help with anything else we might want to do during our stay. Our room was beautiful, with a four poster bed and large bathroom with jaccuzzi bath, Molton Brown toilletries and big comfy robes. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfasts were the best I've had anywhere. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and helpful when suggesting places to visit etc. The decor throughout this cosy, boutique hotel was sporting themed, beautifully done and the smallest detail was considered. The history of the place is fascinating too. It's very well located for sightseeing and there's plenty of beautiful walks to keep you fit! We loved it and it's the perfect place for a romantic getaway but would also be lovely for families. We definitely plan to go back.

We stayed for two nights in early November 2010 on a two day shooting trip. We have been regulars to this hotel for many years now. While we were in Scotland it was bitterly cold, hotel and bedrooms were cosy and the minute we arrive there is a sensation of coming home. Lesile and Neil are fantastic hosts they accommodated all our need. The food is excellent in presentation, taste and quality of produce. Great location for exploring the outdoors of Scotland highland.

We stayed at East Haugh House Hotel for just one night, as we were attending a wedding reception in Pitlochry. The hotel is small and cosy; carefully themed around hunting, shooting and fishing with a modern twist (bespoke wallpaper and freezes). We were in the bar later on (after the wedding). Although very small, there's a good atmosphere and we found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. We had one of the smaller rooms - it was tastefully decorated and nicely prepared (with high quality toiletries, bath-robes, plenty of tea, coffee, shortbread etc). Breakfast was excellent - choice of eggs (we both had poached, which were perfectly cooked), fish options were available too including local smoked salmon. I'll be picky and mention that the bathroom was small in the room we were in and the shower was not brilliant. But I think most of the rooms are larger (we booked late and got a good deal on the room). We would definitely come back...in fact we are planning another trip already. Next time we're planning to eat in the restaurant too as it has won awards and the menus looked great.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are always pleased when guests take the time to let the world know how they felt about staying wih us.

Because the house is old some of the rooms are a little on the small side, but we do our best to make them as comfortable as we can!

We look forward to welcoming you back and hope you will enjoy a delicious dinner in the Two Sisters Restaurant

We arrived to this accommodation at about 17 hours. The hotel was open but no one to welcome as. The place was nice and cozy looking, from outside : a old small castle. After 15 minutes somebody came. We asked how much the room was for one night and we got a room of 59 pounds, which was per person but we found out the following morning when we had to pay. That was a bad surprise cause the place is nice but not that nice to pay 150 Euros for a room. We were coming from Edinburgh where we had a luxury room, also in an old mansion, where we were expected with complimentary drinks, fruit and sherry in the room and cost 100 Pounds. So this one, by Pitlochry didn’t measure up! They should have said clearly that the price is per person!!! This was a cultural misunderstanding …
The unexpected part was that at about 4 a.m. the fire alarm started! We and one other guest came out nobody else. Probably no other guests at that time in the hotel. We had to wake up the person that takes care of the hotel and was sleeping in an annex outside the hotel. We got a “sorry” for the inconvenience. We went to bed after half an hour. It was a false alarm. In the morning when we were asked how we slept we got an “O, you did came out?! Other guests don’t even bother to come out when the alarm goes” so we understood it happened more than once… This place was a disappointment but something to always remember when we’ll think about Scotland!

This place is very near a busy road - which you can see and hear from the front. I had imagined that it was in a quieter location. The room we had was shabby - damp patches on ceiling and very tired bathroom - not at all what we had expected considering the price. However the staff were extremely nice and friendly, and the restaurant & bar were great - evening food and breakfast were very good - so it is a mixed review. Would recommend eating here - but stay somewhere else.
