“wonderful holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2013

Had a wonderful holiday in faskally apartment. The weather was fairly kind to us but the accommodation was excellent so it did not matter what the weather was like. The apartment is superbly fitted out with everything that you need to make your holiday. Poppy was very happy there and so were we. The short walk into Pitlochry means that you can leave the car at the apartment and not worry about finding a place to park. We had a theatre evening while we were there and enjoyed all the walks round about. All in all the perfect break. We will be back in September can't wait and Poppy agrees with me.

Can't recommend highly enough . Lovely spotlessly clean room, hosts couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast a treat with loads of choice. Very nice setting with pleasant grounds .

In a great location very close to the centre of town. Pitlochry itself is a bit pricey but this hotel is real value for money . We will definitely return.

Had a wonderful weeks stay in these beautiful apartments. Were lucky to be able to sit outside on the patio area where we met some of the other people staying there and had a real good laugh. Location great for walking to the shops and restaurants. The train station is also a few minutes walk so one day went to edinburgh without the car and inverness another day. The scenery and walks are lovely. One day while out walking watched the bungee jumping going on at the river garry. Have already booked our next stay in the autumn when the enchanted forest is on.

Room Tip: We stayed in the benvrackie apt overlooking the side garden very secluded as no one can see in

The best place we have stayed in a long while.
Very welcoming hosts, rooms lovely and a really varied choice of breakfast, and excellent quality.
The place was spotless, and in a lovely setting with large gardens and conservatory.
We can highly recommend this place, and will definitely be back.
Keep up the good work Graeme, you should be proud of your efforts.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at front, they have stunning views

We were delighted with the apartment (Killiecrankie) from the moment we were shown into the hall by one of our friendly hosts, Diane. Excellent, modern layout of kingsized bedroom, with plenty of storage space. Modern walk-in shower bathroom. Modern, well fitted lounge / kitchen area with all the appliances you could want, even an iPod/iPhone/iPad dock! Private, off road parking space right outside the apartment, and a small patio area with seating and table. This is one of four apartments, all finished to an excellently high standard, less than three years old I believe. (As of 17/5/2013 when we stayed)
The apartments are situated to the North of the High Street just two minutes walk to the main shopping areas.
We had a marvellous week in Pitlochry, attending the spring rally of our car club the Mazda MX-5 Owners Club, visiting Balmoral castle, Blair Atholl castle, Aviemore etc. etc. A perfect place to stay for exploring Scotland.
Thank you Graeme and Diane for providing such a warm welcome, and such excellent accomodation - we WILL be back.

Room Tip: Any of the four.

We stayed here for two nights recently and had a lovely time.

We stayed in Room 6 which, although a standard room, was very nicely decorated and a pleasant place to spend time. We were blessed with glorious weather during our stay and we spent a few hours in the hotel grounds, relaxing with a drink and admiring the view.

Breakfast was very good. We had the whisky and honey porridge along with a full Scottish breakfast. All you need to do is complete a form stating what you want for breakfast and leave it at reception the night before. The dining conservatory is very pleasant and guests are welcome to eat take away food in there.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming and full of useful information about Pitlochry.

The only, very minor, points I would raise are that there was only a desk top ironing board in the room which we found difficult to use when ironing shirts etc... Not sure if there was a larger ironing board available for use as we didn’t ask but if not this may prove useful to other guests who are staying a little longer than a night or two and would find a full-size ironing board convenient. Also, we found the sun flooded our room from very early in the morning, waking us up before we would have liked to. The curtains, although heavy, did not fit snug to the window due to being on a curtain pole so a black out blind or similar would be good to keep that early morning sun out of the room to benefit those that like a lie in! One final point was we found the shower to have lacked power- not sure if this was due to the times we were using it. The shower itself was nice and large with shampoo and body wash being provided in dispensers.

Pitlochry itself is very nice and has plenty of places to eat and drink and some nice shops and walks. One word of warning though- we usually eat our evening meal later in the evening and we could not find anywhere to eat on Saturday evening so ended up going to the Chinese takeaway. We were told by a lady at one of the restaurants that the only place to get food past 8 o’clock was the Indian restaurant. Not sure if this is indeed the case but I thought it useful to include this information in my review.

There is a Co- Op in the centre of Pitlochry so if you need some nibbles and a drink you can easily get such things there.

We did the tour of Blair Atholl Distillery which we found interesting and informative.

All in all, we had a great few days away and would recommend the Claymore to others looking for a relaxing break in pleasant surroundings.
