“Claymore Apartments - what great accomodation, exceptional standard!”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

Hi booked the Claymore Apartments at short notice for two nights, mid-week, as a couple with one small dog. This accomodation is out of this world, modern, clean, great quality fixtures and fittings and spacious, clean to the standard that you feel you are the first people to visit. We visit Pitlochry regularly and will definitely be back. The owners are just lovely people offering a relaxed and open welcome. I cannot recommend this accomodation highly enough!
Great location, exceptional standard.

Room Tip: Ground floor apartments are offered to dog owners.

What a great place to stay! Starting with a warm welcome from Graeme we immediately felt at home. With a beautifull room, great view over the garden and the convienently location this was one of the best places we have stayed. The hospitality and nice surrounding made us decide to stay one more night. Thanks to Graeme and Diane for having us and we will try your porridge next time!

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of days last June. I wish I could have stayed more. There is not so much to do in pitlochry but you can do everything from there. The hotel itself is immaculate. Amazing garden and spacious rooms. Very clean. The owners are amazing people that go out of their way to make u feel at home. The view from the hotel is magnificent and the location is perfect. Would definitely go back again as soon as as I can.

We had a very nice stay at the Claymore and would recommend it. But this is not really a hotel, more of a guest house. It is professionally run but not the scale of a hotel and not with all your usual hotel services such as room service and laundry service. No real complaints though as our bedroom was fine and the breakfast room was modern and pleasant. Stay here but beware it is not a big hotel. Very handy location for a short walk into town.

My wife and I stayed in The Claymore in July 2013 and had a great time there. We found it to be conveniently located off the main street about 2 minutes walk from the centre of town. Perhaps surprisingly for its location, it’s also peaceful and quiet. During the day you can hear the odd swish of traffic and the occasional train passing by, but at night I found it very quiet indeed.

The owners Graeme and Diane made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and they had allocated us Room 9 - a large room on the ground floor tastefully decorated throughout with nobody above us, featuring a brand new ensuite bathroom, a fridge in the room and an unusually comfortable bed. I slept better in it than I do in my own bed at home!

We were also impressed with the breakfasts in the morning – during the week I tried the kippers, full Scottish and continental options and they were all delicious. The large conservatory where breakfast is served is a great place to eat, looking out over the beautiful gardens with views to the hills beyond.

Graeme was also very kind to us one day when the Scottish weather turned against us and we got drenched while out on a walk. When we got back to the room he turned the heating on especially for us so that we could dry our clothes, and even offered us the use of his tumble drier.

In all we were very impressed, would recommend the Claymore highly, and will certainly return in the future. We really didn’t want to leave.

Room Tip: Room 9 is great. There is nobody above you so no creaking floorboards.

This is an excellent b&b with a lovely garden - I just had to take my shoes off to feel the lush lawn beneath my feet! Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a fridge, powerful shower and hair drier and heated towel rail in the large bathroom. Breakfast was huge, freshly cooked and delicious. Graeme is an excellent host advising us on walks to take and places to eat. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night but would definitely book again if we return to Pitlochry.

Had lovely week at Claymore Apts. Stayed in the Clunie Apt which had large picture window and probably the best view. The apt was very well set out and had just about everything you require on a self. catering holiday . Very large walk in shower which looked terrific and I was really looking forward to trying it out. I imagined due to its size that it would blast out and be a power shower, however it just had average water pressure, which was adequate but didn't live up to how it looked. Minor point though everything else was good. Great location, quiet surroundings but just few minutes walk from main street, restaurants, bars, shops etc. Has own designated parking space. Owners Diane & Graeme very nice and look after apts and their guest house extremely well. Weather was fantastic which added to a wonderful week.

Room Tip: Clunie has one of better views
