we spent another weekend in the apartments at the claymore hotel. these apartments are fantastic, including well equipped kitchen with top of the range appliances, dishwasher, and washing machine, excellent furnishings, flat screen tvs in lounge and bedroom and an absolutely giant shower in bathroom. we had breakfast in the hotel which is delicious and nothing is too much trouble. the owners are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible and they always succeed. we have stayed in most hotels in pitlochry, but the claymore is by far the best, we will be back in october or november for another relaxing stay.

R & B Carroll from Glenrothes

Room Tip: we have stayed in the main hotel and the apartments, and all are excellent

We are regulars at the Claymore and maybe a bit bias but the other reviews reflect why the Claymore is popular and highly rated. You just cant fault this gem of a location and the owners are lovely too and are more than welcoming to all.

just spent the weekend in this great hotel, we went up with friends and we had rooms 4 and 9. they are both superior doubles with plenty of space. as usual Graeme was the perfect host - always has time for a little chat. Best breakfast in Scotland nothing is too much trouble.
we have stayed here a few times now and will certainly be back - thanks Graeme.

Stayed here on a national holiday trip for Buns night. Hotel great, staff friendly, clean room, lovly food. Fantastic views all round. Only bad thing entertainment room is too small. However didn't spoil the weekend. We'll be coming here again.

I see you have left a review on our website, but I'm afraid it wasn't this Claymore you
were staying at. You have mixed us up with one of the other 3 Claymore's in Scotland.

This was our first stay at the Claymore Hotel: it had been recommended by friends who have stayed before and with whom we stayed. We went for Hogmanay and were so impressed that we have booked to stay there again in 2014/5 as have our friends.

The room was a little short of storage space, but that was no problem and the pros far exceed that very minor issue.

The host (Graeme) and hostess (Diane) are delightful people who strive to and do provide whatever residents want. The breakfasts are wonderful and cooked however one likes. They are friendly and very welcoming people; very helpful and charmingly witty.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was my fiance and I's first stay at The Claymore, and we were not disappointed.

We decided at the very last minute we wanted a night away from the busyness of town, and came across this gem.
The apartments are amazing and finished to a very high standard. Everything you would need for a home from home, including your own parking space.
Away from the main road and far enough out of the main part of town, you can enjoy the quiet that surrounds you.
Location great for getting around. We usually stay in Rannoch and Kenmore, but this is far more central and allows you to explore Pitlocharys restaurants and bars.
Breakfast was served in the main building and it was a nice way to start the day (I might venture the porridge next time)

Graeme and Diane were wonderful hosts, as was Manny the dog who greeted us upon our arrival.

We were so impressed we have decided to return for our mini-moon next year! Can't wait.

First things first ... visiting Scotland and experiencing it natural and historical treasures while engaging its wonderful people should be on your bucket list. What an amazing two weeks! We arrived with another couple on September 13 and spent our first two nights at the Claymore Hotel in Pitlochry Scotland. Simply said: A beautiful inn with sculptured gardens. Very clean! Pristine condition! Modern conveniences. Very comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast. Everything exceeded our expectations. And best of all, the inn is owned and operated by two extremely charming hosts - Graeme and Diane. They made our visit special ... so much so that we gave them a sincere invitation to visit us in Houston Texas which we do hope they will accept. Pitlochry is a beautiful town and even though the Highland Games held there in September was the attraction that brought us there, it was obvious as we arrived that Pitlochry is a destination town at any time of year. Great restaurants, shops and great, friendl people. We WILL return. Thank you Graeme and Diane from your Texas friends.

Room Tip: It is a bed and breakfast and all rooms are different ... book well in advance to hear Diane describ...
