Stayed here from 30th Dec to 2nd Jan. We booked a Superior Room and what a room it was! Beautiful decor and a super comfy bed. Brilliant breakfast and superb hospitality. Definately recommend staying here to anyone, a good honest B&B!!!!

Just came back from a 3 night stay at The Claymore where we stayed with friends from Aberdeen for Hogmanay/New Year 2010/2011. I would certainly recommend this lovely B&B. What an excellent time we had. From the minute we walked through the door we were greeted by Graeme the owner who just makes you feel so welcome and within minutes you feel like you've known him for years. The rooms are very spacious and clean and Graeme said that if we wanted to bring wine/beer back then he would provide us with glasses. You can also bring back your own food and eat it in the conservatory if you wish but there are so many lovely places nearby to go out and have a meal that there's really no need to get a carryout. To sumarise The Claymore I would say, great location, great welcome and certainly great, great breakfasts - they're huge! Book The Claymore even if it is just to try the freashly prepared breakfasts for yourselves - yum!!!

Had a fab stay at this freindly bed & breakfast. Room was comfortable, lovely and warm. Brought in our own wine (which we were allowed too cool in the fridge) and chatted with other guests in the superb conservetory. Got shown around their recently built luxury apartments, which we are considering on our next visit .Handy too walk to town centre where there lots of eating places too choose from.

We would defo recomend the Claymore to our frends and we will look forward too returning here ourselves.

Two minutes from town, views from the front rooms are a joy to waken upto. I stayed in the Superior King size room , and could'nt wait to wake in the morning to see the magnificent autumn colours in the forest facing the front of the building.
Diane & Graeme (the hosts) could'nt make us anymore welcome than they did.
Full scottish breakfast was amazing in the conservatory, you dont feel claustrophobic like most hotel dining areas. The rooms were comfortable, clean and tea and coffee were plentiful.
Although it does not have a bar,you are welcome to bring in your own drink and enjoy it in the conservatory, plates and cutlery are also made available should you be tempted to bring in your own food to consume after a visit to the enchanted forest or even after a visit to town.
In all honesty, the amount of times I have stayed in Pitlochry in more expensive hotels, I have never recieved better hospitality than from the Claymore.
My comments may seem over the top, thats only because in my view the Claymore deserves it.
I am even considering using it to celebrate New Year in Pitlochry.

This is a small hotel, very convenient to the town. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner; the room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast, which you choose the night before, was brought to your table freshly cooked and hot. Plenty of free parking at the Hotel.

Large comfortable superior double room with good view, would have prefered curtains to the venetian blinds for better blackout, but this was not a major issue. Our room was next to the conservatory dining room (some setting up sounds) so you will not miss the very good breakfast 0830-0930hrs. Good touch was a selection of free DVD's located at reception for those rainy days! This guest house is conveniently located near the dam in this quaint little town, Pitlochry has enough choice of places to eat & drink, we found the Old Mill Inn just off the main road to be fairly reasonable. Good walks in & around town, try walking to the Moulin Inn & Brewery for liquid refreshment and open fires, also serves food (did not order any but looked fine) takes about 20 mins walk. The Blair Athol distillery tour on the edge of town was worth the £5 entry and wee dram at tour end, check the local weather forecast as on wet days it can apparently get busy?
