I have taken the trouble to review this restaurant, even thought it already has enough glowing reviews, because the chef took extra troublt for us.

We were staying elsewhere and booked a meal here because of the AA rosette, and were very glad we had. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the service and food excellent. The setting, and the canapes to start with, give a real sense of occasion to the meal.

We both wanted the open ravioli for a starter, but whe we were told there was only 1 portion left, my husband gallantly chose an alternative. The waitress returned a minute or two later to tell us the chef could make an extra one. This was an excellent start to a lovely meal. The setting, wines and service were excellent, and were well matched by the food.

We had such a lovely evening we wanted to eat here again the next night, our waitress had no spaces but promised to call us back the next day to let us know of any cancellations. Sadly, there was no room, but she did bother to call and let us know. Thinking of going? Book now!

I have already said it all in my review. The choice & quality of the food was seriously impressive & we did justice to all of it.

We simply wouldn't eat anywhere else - all meals were delicious. The dinner menu was a wonderful balance between traditional modern cuisine. Taking coffee and liqueurs in the lounge after dinner added to the experience - and the service throughout was both attentive yet unobtrusive.

Booked 2 nights DB&B to take in Pitlochry Theatre. Many times in Pitlochry but first for Knockendarroch. Pleasant room with great views over the town to the hills beyond. 4 choices for each of the 3 courses at dinner and really surprised at quality of cooking and presentation. Second evening's dinner just as good. Relaxed breakfast on both mornings with usual offerings, all well presented and cooked to order. Nice change not to have a self help buffet. Extremely pleasant and professional staff provided excellent service throughout. Return visit guaranteed.

We'd booked the dinner package at Knockendarroch Hotel without realising it, and thought we'd check out dinner on the first night and perhaps eat somewhere else the next. But if we could eat there again and again we would. The five course meal was great quality. We enjoyed aperitifs and canapes in the lounge while we chose from the food and wine menu. The food was well presented and full of flavour. We then retired to the lounge for digestifs and petits fours.

The atmosphere was a little muted but is perfect for couples or groups of two or three.
