“A wee hidden gem”

As usual, guided by Trip Advisor and, as usual, it came up trumps. Needed a place to stay for a wedding at House for an Art Lover (what a brilliant place!) and this was close. Now, when I need to stay in Glasgow, I'm staying here, even though it's Paisley (it's so close). A grand home - must look up the history - and incredibly welcoming owners (?) and staff. Beautiful big rooms, loads of on-site parking and a fabulous breakfast added up to the perfect stay. Oh, and the prices are excellent value too. Highly recommended!

I picked this place to stay without realising that it lay in the centre of the town. We were not sure what to expect as we drove up the steep cobbled lane to the property. We were delighted when shown in to the hotel with the taste and vision that had been shown when doing it up. We had a lovely room and the breakfast was superb. Only sorry that we could not spend longer there.

Stayed for four days over the Christmas period whilst visiting relatives in Paisley. Paisley town centre has seen better days, but this hotel gave a flavour of country house living just minutes from it. The room we were in was a good size and was quiet. Enormous breakfasts are on offer. The dinner menu in the hotel was a bit limited in choice, but what we had was good and was good value for money. Staff are friendly and chatty. Impressive shower in the bathroom. Overall, good value for money.

The only minor down sides were the non-fluffy towels, limited shampoo and a non-functioning electric razor socket in the bathroom, and somewhat limited space to put clothes in the bedroom.

The hotel is beautiful and fitted out to a high standard. The building is packed full of original features and even with huge rooms and original sash and case windows the place is kept toasty warm in winter.

The hospitality was also fantastic. Despite having a very small baby we were made very welcome at all times and couldn't have felt more comfortable.

All in all this was a great surprise. We would never have gone to stay Paisley when visiting Glasgow had it not been for a gift we had been given but we are glad we did. Will surely be back.

Room Tip: Room 10 is huge.

We had booked for two nights but eventually stayed for 3 - (they couldn't accommodate us for more as they were fully booked). Nothing but excellent service and helpful advice. Room very good with all facilities. Building is from 1795 and has been restored to an amazing standard and furnished to match, but with all mod cons.
Wonderful atmosphere and service - what more could you want? Only minor suggestion is that more tea bags etc would have been appreciated.
Excellent position in the centre of the town but difficult to find in the dark, in rush hour, with all the one way systems etc, not the fault of the hotel!! We will stay again.

It was a very nice hotel. Very clean with good sized room a reasonable sized tv. Comfortable bed and a fully tiled bathroom with large shower. Very quiet. The only slight issue was the room could have been warmer.

In Scotland for a business trip I expected to be booked in to a bland chain hotel. Instead I got the Ashtree House Hotel, a family run hotel in a beautiful listed building in Paisley. How lucky! The hotel is beautiful with a plethora of original features. The food is tasty and freshly cooked to order and they went out of the way to cater for me as a vegetarian, including making me a packed lunch each day! The rooms are stylish, beautifully decorated and so comfy with beds that you sink into. Management and staff alike are friendly, helpful and really make you feel at home!

I would heartily recommend a stay at The Ashtree House Hotel and hope that I will be back one day.

Room Tip: I have stayed in 2 of the rooms as my trip was over a 2 week period and both rooms were excellent.
