First of all, Julie is great. She is very warm and inviting and we felt very comfortable from the start. The interior of this B & B is gorgeous...it's clean and very posh! Just loved the colors and all the details. Our room was comfortable and very pretty. We had a great night there. The breakfast in the morning was very good as well. We would definitely make our way back to Ayr and stay there again some day...it is a very special place.

Upon arrival, we were moved from the B & B where we had reservations due to our stated bed preferences. We appreciated the manager noting our requests. We were quickly greeted and pointed up the stairs to our rooms. That was the last we saw of anyone until breakfast the next morning. However, upon returning from a wonderful dinner elsewhere, we were greeted with the worst smell of grease and frying onions. It permeated our clothing and rooms for hours. It was over the whole place. The rooms were adequate and the bed comfortable, but the smell was awful. The entire establishment is so small and compact, every cough, snore, door shutting, tv program, board creaking, shower running, etc. could be heard in our second floor room. So, if you are a light sleeper, beware. There was someone watching a ball game until after midnight. We could hear the announcer on every play as well as the group breaking up after the game.

We stayed at the B&B on the advice of our Daughter and it did not fail to impress us. It is an excellent ran Guesthouse, spotlessly clean and kept that way, the breakfast was also excellent, all staff very welcoming and friendly, also the little touches in the bedrooms (safe, ironing board iron etc) make all the difference. We would not hesitate to recommend this establishmnt and will be visiting again. Jackie & Pete Tregartha

We stayed at the Bythesea B&B on the 15th of july 2013
It is an Excellent Guesthouse ,could not fault it,
the room was first class, and you had a good choice for
breakfast. the Bythesea is very good value .
if we are in Ayr again we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: room 3 is a very good room.
