We travelled at fairly short notice to attend a family funeral in Ayr. My wife and I had our 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter with us and we booked the large family room on the first floor. It has a double bed and a single in parallel, with a smaller single across the foot of the double. It was cosy and comfortable. And the shower (no bath) was good and efficient. The weather was hot (and the room radiators were still on) so we had to keep the windows open to cool the room. We all slept well - and the supplementary blinds helped keep out the light behind the curtains. The street is very quiet indeed.

We were arriving around midnight so had arranged to pick up the key from the owners own house, just along the street. They were unfailingly helpful to us.

The cooked Scottish breakfast was splendid and will set anyone up for the day. The guesthouse is in very easy walking distance of everything in Ayr and is slap bang opposite the Pirate play centre and excellent outdoor play facilities. We took the kids to the circus when we were there.

A particular attraction is the guesthouse downstairs lounge, where parents can sit and chat or watch TV in the evening when the kids have gone to bed upstairs. There's a selection of books, board games, magazines and an X-Box too.

Highly recommended!

We stayed here a week or so ago on our way back from doing the West Highland Way. It was like a home from home.
The house is situted about one road from the sea front and within a very short walking distance of the town centre.
The room, although on the small side (we did know about this so it was fine!) was lovely. The guest house was very modern, clean and very very comfortable. Our room had tea and coffee making facilities.
The room had a very comprehensive information brochure and the proprietor was very helpful in recommending a chinese restaurant to us.
We selected our choice of breakfast and time from the list the night before. The staff who served the breakfast were very friendly and more than accommodating. The breakfast incidentally was excellent!
The guest house had a lovely large lounge with TV, dvd, several games (including a playstation!) for communal use. There was a pleasant decked outside area with chairs, loungers and parasols.
We stumbled upon this hostel and it was a late booking but we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and i stayed here for two nights and it was lovely and warm. The pwners were very friendly. The rooms were really nicely decorated and the area was ideal for our stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
