We were staying in Maybole and went to Ayr to pass the time between events at the Glasgow commenwealth games. We were looking for somewhere different for lunch and happened apon this unassuming pub. A very quirky interior and very traditional, we were going to go into the Tams restuarant but was full. The food was excellent, service with a smile and the drink and atmosphere was top notch, would highly recommend a visit even if it is only for historic reasons

Very interesting old Inn, worth a quick visit. They have a restaurant next door, but we didn't eat there so cannot comment.

just by luck we had came across this little restaurant whilst on holiday at craig tara wit the kids. from the minute we opened the door the staff were great very friendly and as much as they were busy they didn't let that stop them from interacting with us (unlike other places we have been too). having two young children whom aren't fussy eaters but this specific day they happened to want something that was not on their kids menu but with no hesitations they said that they could have that which was fab and made the kids happy. me and my mum ordered their salad (ham, chicken and cheese) which was one of the best salads we have ever had and my partner got the chicken with haggis. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being there and ended up going back again on the sunday when the in laws came to visit with it being a beautiful day. will be going back again with no doubts.
