“Pleasant & Clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

My Mum and I stayed for one night recently and found the hotel to be acceptable for the price. The rooms were clean and provided everything we needed. The staff were very friendly. A good place to stay for the price. It is old-fashioned, but who needs modern boxes that all look just the same?

stayed at The Ayshire&Galloway with my friend for 1 night wish it had been longer. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and very reasonably priced. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our twin room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast, served in the restaurant next door was excellent. The hotel is well situated for all amenities. we wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anybody, and wouldn't hesitate to use it next time we visit Ayr.

I found this hotel by chance and really pleased I did.
Lovely friendly hotel, with great staff, comfy rooms, modern bathrooms and wonderful food.
Would recommend this hotel very highly.
Although its a city centre hotel, I didn't find it noisy but very convenient for restaurants and only a ten minute walk from the beach.

Room Tip: It all looked good :)

have stayed overnight in the "shire" a few times and it has always been adequate.its situated at the top of the town and is handy for shops ,pubs etc.only problem with the room was that it was,nt very clean but shower was fantastic.unfortunately we were kept awake almost all of the night with squaking seagulls and our room looked on to a flat roof with a dead seagull and some chicks,so sleep wasn't really an option.had a light brekkie in the meridian downstairs which was ok.maybe just unlucky on the bird front and would certainly recommend the a&g if you want a cheap friendly no frills hotel

Nice pleasant stay ,easy walking access to everywhere in town ,clean with easy going staff ,it is next to road so if this is a problem ask for room at rear ,nothing bad to say had a pleasant couple of days in the sun in a low priced hotel !,recommended to all...pubs and food within a few feet all ways ,recommend Smiths bar and restaurant well priced booze food expensive but splendid so balances out ,out front door turn left ,left again and walk along 200 yards can't miss it .
