we were advised to go here, from asking some locals where could we get a good meal, we were not disappointed! lovely cosy feel , helpfull and friendly staff ,telling us where we should go of local interest. the food was very good quality cooked to perfection. I had the duck which was delicious ,my daughter the lamb, which was equally good, the steak melt in the mouth. the puddings looked good, tasted devine,i had the cheese board,oh my ,iam quite finicky about the cheese ,not boring cheese you would except. lovely fresh and very tasty! I would tell anyone to try this little gem.parking just around the corner too.in Ayr town.

If you are going to a show at The Gaiety Theatre then this is the place to have an excellent pre-theatre meal. On Mondays to Fridays you can get a 2 course meal between 1700hrs and 1830hrs for £10 95. All the food is locally sourced and cooked to perfection by chef/owner Dougie Smith.
It is best to book as the premises are not large and the bistro type atmosphere adds to the experience.

M McKinstry - Ayr

A group of us dined here last night and had the most awful experience. One pretty young waitress who appeared to be very helpful, was subjected to a shocking audible tearing down from behind the scenes by whom we believe now to be the OWNER! He yelled at the poor girl to 'get your stuff and go' How dare he speak to anyone in that manner and how embarrassing for the girl, she left in tears.

Mediocre food at best and after last nights antics, we'll certainly not be back. Shame on you sir!

On a busy Wednesday evening (due to a fab show on at The Gaiety) we had a superb meal served quickly and pleasantly by the lovely girls on duty! Well done ladies! I'll be back!
