Being just a few minutes from Hamilton East railway station, it was a perfect place to stay for the Commonwealth Games. From the moment we stepped inside the doors after a long journey, we were made to feel very welcome. The room was quite small but the bathroom was absolutely fine. There is a bar downstairs which was welcome after a night out with a decent breakfast as well. Plenty of onsite parking too.

Stayed here for a few years now and the staff and owners are amazing. Really friendly and cosy with comfy rooms and a lovely bar for a few drinks before you go to bed. One of the best hotels for a great stay. Thanks guys !

Room Tip: All the rooms we stayed in have been the same good quality and its quiet enough for a good sleep

It's amazing how when staff are so friendly you can forgive the little things. From arrival to departure we fell under the spell of such friendly staff. The hotel it's self is clean and we'll maintained. The rooms could do with a bit of investment but the public areas look newly refurbished and are well kept.
Goods nights sleep, good breakfast, excellent staff. Close too to the railway station.

Having managed to get Commonwealth games tickets we needed to find somewhere to stay and found this hotel for our 4 night stay. What a wee gem. Very close to the local Hamilton West train station which was ideal for our commutes to the venues for hockey and rugby 7's, Glasgow Green and Ibrox (with a change of train).

On arrival we asked about parking as we had tickets for hockey after check out time and there was no problem about leaving our car at the rear car park and pick up later.

Initial impression was how spotlessly clean and tidy the hotel was. Staff were very friendly, helpful when needing directions and nothing was too much bother. We were going to miss breakfast one morning due to an early start but on mentioning this were offered a packed lunch, the following day was going to be the same and wouldn't manage to have a cooked breakfast but we managed a quick continental before we left for the day this time.

Our room and bed was comfortable if a bit too warm our first two nights, but was due more to the hot weather outside, our window had been left open though, which helped. Very clean and tidy. Possibly a little on the small side if staying for longer but it suited our needs ideally as we were out for most of the day. Only one small beside table and one chair another may be useful. Small television but for viewing you have to lounge on the bed...but not a problem. The bar area was comfortable and we enjoyed a couple of meals, which were very good value for money.

Unfortunately we didn't meet the owners but I have to say your staff do you proud. If we ever need to be in the area again we would definitely try to stay here.

Stayed there 24-28 July.

Very friendly reception staff who arranged a swift book-in process although we had arrived earlier than the allocated time of check-in. Nice clean room with ensuite that was more than suitable for what was required for our visit. Excellent personal service from the staff and owners and any information required on locations in the area was made readily available both verbally and in map format. Breakfast consisted of a very nice continental self-service or a fully cooked Scottish Breakfast, both of which were excellent quantity and quality. Lunch and dinner were available from the hotel menu and were exceptional value for cost. A very nice stay, the friendliness and genuine warmth of the staff will have us returning to the Clydesdale on our next visit to Scotland. Ralph & Anna, Australia
