I sourced this hotel through late rooms website as I had to travel to Scotland on business on a rushed visit. I arrived with a work colleague about 6pm and we were quickly booked in by a pleasant chap and handed our room keys and a TV remote control unit! The room (No 10) was at the rear of the hotel which looked onto a brick wall and was a "rat run" for hotel kitchen staff so the curtains required closing all the time you are in the room to prevent you flashing the staff. The room was clean well equipped and featured a nice bright bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath I met my mate in the well stocked bar at 8pm and we had a very tasty meal in the hotel restaurant which was pricey compared to the room rate of £55. The hotel has 2 bars one at the rear with a sport theme and numerous private rooms for hire. Breakfast was served prompt in the bright, clean conservatory/restaurant which looks entirely different from the previous night when we had dinner. Overall the hotel for the money is good value compared with your boring travelodges and has a nice atmosphere and cheerful hard working staff and Ok for a quick stop over on business.
I am still a bit bemused with the TV remote sketch though which has to be returned to the reception on checking out!More
