“Excellent staff”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Stayed here for three nights with work.

Room was fine, spacious and clean, and standard holiday inn. Breakfast was as per usual Holiday Inn express, not a vast choice, but plentiful. But the staff made it excellent. Friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

Will be staying here again.

Checked in for 1 night with the family. We arrived late on a Friday night and had to contend with drunks pilling out of the nightclub next door. Our room was overlooking the road at the front of the hotel and someone had left the window open because of the lack of air conditioning, but the room stank of cigarettes from the smokers area right under our window.

i didn't complain as we were shattered and it was almost 2 am, but I would say if it wasn't for the initial annoyances the hotel was comfortable, the staff were polite and helpful and all round it was a nice place.

Thank you Matt for the feedback on your stay with us.

I am sorry that your enjoyment of the hotel was tempered due to the people outside the hotel - we are looking at ways to improve the air cooling and hopefully I will be able to report on here some exciting news about this before too long!

Your comments about our team are gratefully received - we all try our best to be warm, friendly and professional so it is good to read your remarks.

Clean hotel and friendly staff, but they could do a lot more on the food. I know you can get decent food in Glasgow, juts not at the holiday Inn, its all permutations of heart attack in a bun or on toast. Plus pot noodles at reception and a fridge full of kit cats and mars bars.

If desperate try Nandos just around the corner, not exacty super healthy but it might delay your hear bypass.

Room Tip: Get one away from the road

Thanks Gerald for the feedback on your recent stay with us, it is good to read that our service is so well received by our guests.

In terms of the food offerings in the hotel, we do aim to strike a balance which suits our guests and fits in with the brand model, however, your comments indicate that we have erred too much on convenience food at this time, and we shall take these remarks on board and look at what we do.

There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, Nandos which you mention, along with chains such as Frankie & Bennys, Chiquitos, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, and a whole host of local independent restaurants such as Gusti D'Italia, Costas, Bombay Cottage, so we do hope that people are not too short of ideas if they chose not to eat in the hotel.

I stayed here for one night on business. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and comfortable and I managed a really good nights sleep. There is also a locked luggage room where I left my case whilst I was at work then went back to collect before I travelled back home - this service was free and so useful as I didn't want to take my luggage to work with me. Breakfast was adequate and there is a limited choice of bar meals on an evening but that is the only downfall and there are plenty of places to eat elsewhere in town. Overall a very good place to stay.

As one would expect with a Holiday Inn Express the room was small and facilities were limited but for a short stay, as ours was, it was a pleasant and enjoyable night. With a lovely clean bath room and a TV that had all the basic channels as well Sky1 and Sky Sports News, we were a very happy family. The staff made our trip even better. If I had one gripe, it would be the lack of lighting in the room; there were no ceiling lights and the largest lamp in the room did not work, however for one evening this wasn't a huge deal.

We stayed here last weekend when we attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The hotel was very clean and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. The staff were really helpful in directing us to the centre of Glasgow and had pre printed maps for residents to take away. Having been promised continental breakfast on the website we were delighted to find scrambled eggs and sausages on offer. Bar was open late in the evening drinks pricey but to be expected.

Room Tip: We had one twin and one double both rooms were spacious with a well appointed bathroom No air cond...

Hotel Holiday Inn Express Hamilton-Scotland:
------------------------------------------------------------
We stayed for 2 nights in this place in July this year.Location-wise this hotel in just next to the Hamilton Palace Grounds retail park. This retail park houses number of big super markets like ASDA. A few of them are open 24 hours, So even if you return to the hotel late in the evening after work or sight-seeing, you can go for shopping. This place is located in between Scotland’s two largest cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh. So travel to these cities from this place does not take much time.
Rooms are well kept and clean with standard amenties like tea/coffee maker, hair dryer, hand-wash gel and clean fluffy towels in bath room. But like many hotels in UK , here also complimentary items in bath room like soap, shampoo, tooth paste, shaving kit and comb are not kept.In case you need them, you have to ask for them and they will supply free of cost.A small piece of paper kept in the bath room carries this information. Their tasty complimentary breakfast served in the restaurant includes cereal, fruit, scrambled egg, sausages, beans, toast and other pastries. This is sure to help you start the day with energy. Overall professionally well managed hotel with courteous and friendly service to guests.
