“Cracking place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

After driving past it one evening, this place caught our attention so we decided to come back to try it. What a great place! Immediately after arrival, staff welcomed us with a smile despite being so busy. After a few laughs reading the signs and decorations of the place, all with good humour, (Beano and the Broons vignettes as wall paper in the toilet! Class!) we got ourselves a few menus and sat outside. Within minutes , they came and took our order. Plenty of food choice and the cakes looked amazing. Portions are really generous and enormous and ingredients are fresh. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside in case we were cold, but we were quite happy to stay out as it wasn't too cold,( been a lot colder on some mountain summits!!! We're used to the climate! ) it was nice of them to check on us though. Food was amazing, really filling. Normally, we would have passed on the desserts, .....but you need to see those....there was no alternative really! The merengue was the height of Ben Lomond, and the strawberry tart was to die for. Beautiful views, great staff, warm welcoming atmosphere and superb food, what else do you need? We were offered some fresh eggs to go home with, shame the hens hadn't laid any, another nice touch from Ritchie, the owner, who made sure all his guests were well attended at all times and made us laugh so much. Overall, a fantastic and charming wee place to stop by for lunch or coffee, will definitely go back, would love to sit outside on a summer day! A must if you drive nearby, stop for a "wee blether".

“Quaint & relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

We were staying in the nearby Forest Hills hotel and came across this little gem of a place. Wee tiny bit pricey - we bought a latte, milkshake and 1 meringue and it cost just shy of £9.
However, the meringue was the best I've ever tasted. It was huge, the cream was fresh and real and the strawberries were huge and beautiful! We had a beuatiful day so were able to sit outside on the decking which was lovely.
The place is decorated randomly with lots of little things everywhere which I loved.
Smashing wee place, well worth a visit!
