This is the very first trip with Lochs and Glens and I have already booked another. I can't believe how incredibly well this trip was organized. A lot of company's could learn a great deal from them.
The hotel Achray was in an amazing location with incredible views all around you. The staff are very attentive and nothing is to much trouble for them. The hotel manageress is a lady called Elaine and its not only that she is very well organized, but she is also a great host as well. On the last night of our stay, she managed to lend my friend and I a kilt for the evening. It was such a great night. I do think the staff make this holiday.
The coach trips are not at all boring with the driver Dave having s great knowledge of the area and always making it interesting. You get plenty of stops and the places always turn out better than you may think. Always try everything they offer as you will be pleasantly surprised. On one of the days listed, it said "sea life center". I was not looking forward to this very much and was going to look for an alternative. Lucky me, I stayed with this trip all the way and what a day it was. Included was a ferry across Loch Lomond to another one of the company hotels, yes it was a good ploy , but it was a nice place with fantastic views across the loch. Then we had a short cruise and given information about the area. The coach stopped off at the most beautiful waterfall in this tiny town. All day, new places of interest were stopped at for our benefit.
The Scottish breakfast is not to be missed. You have to try the chefs porridge, just add a tiny bit of brown sugar and its great. The evening meals are very good and yes I did try the haggis.
Special thanks to Elaine the hotel manageress, and not forgetting the two fabulous drivers Dace and John. These people made this holiday fantastic.
