This Inn is a right enigma. I had read the reviews and broadly got what I expected. You just have to take this place for what it is.Probably unfair to compare with mainland establishments.
My room was a substantially better standard than the bar and eating areas which really were in need of a complete revamp.
The menu is as advertised with basic but decent pub grub. The internet is not as advertised – it is very poor at best (as is the phone signal) so being free throughout is pretty academic.
This was not particularly expensive, but in my opinion no higher price could be justified. The staff are pleasant and helpful but if you want some finesse with quality food and décor this is probably not the place for you.
The location is idyllic but any more than a short stay may prove testing, a shame because the business potential is huge.

Room Tip: A room at the back does not face the loch and has the noise and view of the inn car park.

We stayed for one night at the Loch Erisort Inn, happily managing to find a room when much else was booked. The food, beer and welcome were excellent, and great value. The dinner menu had a huge choice of freshly made specials, and the breakfast was great too. The public bar has lots of interesting curios, books and friendly locals.

We spent three nights here in late June on our travels round Scotland. We loved it. If you want a warm welcome, comfy rooms and terrific home cooked food then this is where you need to be. Yes, it is quirky but it suited us perfectly. All the staff were so friendly and Bernie acting as front of house cheered us up! Lewis on Sunday is closed but not here! Come back from a busy day site seeing, have a great shower, a couple of drinks and a good meal! Job done. Sleep like a baby, getting ready for the breakfast challenge if you dare. Thank you for the lovely memories. Oh, if you remember, ask for a room facing the loch-magical.

Stayed here one night with Dad during our cycle trip. The room was very good and we got an excellent nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was even better with about as much Stornaway Black and eggs as you could possibly eat! As Bernie said "No-one leaves the Erisort hungry". The other highlight was Bernie and the service itself. We arrived late and without a reservation and were made immediately welcome and ended up spending the rest of the night chatting with our host down in the bar. Some great stories! The position may not be as spectacular as some spots, and the bar may look a little tired, but the food and service were top notch. Cheers for the evening Bernie!

Together with friends, we spent 2 nights in this hotel/restaurant.

The cuisine was good, and the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom lighting was very good.

Many thanks to Bernie, Allyson and Sally for their friendly welcome.

We stayed at the Loch Erisort Inn for two nights in May at the start of our tour of the Outer Hebrides. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was a large, clean and with a good shower. The only disappointment was that we did not have a view of the loch. The evening meal was good home cooking, with lots of local produce. There was a wide selection at breakfast, again with local produce. Would definitely stay here again.

On a recent family holiday in the Hebrides we ate here one evening and enjoyed the experience overall. The carpet could do with renewal and other aspects of the decor are somewhat tired, and unfortunately there was no proper beer (i.e. real ale) on offer as there was a problem with the supplier. However the food was decent enough (pretty standard pub fare) and they looked after us nicely. A very good place to stop between Tarbert and Stornoway. The proprietor is a plain-speaking Yorkshireman!
