first rate b&b Run by Edna with the help of Angus and old Poppy the dog. Very friendly welcome fom Edna and a spotlessly clean and simple comfy ensuite bedroom. Nothing is fancy but everything is good. Evening meal was great. Home cooking, simple but of very good quality, roast pork and all the trimmings..fabulous with enough to feed double the helpings. Breakfast was the same and we were presented, without asking, with a similarly ginormous plate of very well cooked food. Edna is a friendly and chatty host and her and Angus can give an interesting insight into ordinary life on the island having lived there all their lives. Loch beag is a good stop off for having a wander around the Butt of Lewis area and I would recommend without hesitation.

We were warmly welcomed. The room was very clean and well appointed with a lovely shower. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and small cakes/biscuits which were refreshed daily. Edna, Angus and Poppy make you feel very welcome and share local knowledge with you of places worth visiting, things to do and places to eat. We also liked the fact that if the weather wasn't so good you didn't feel that you had to stay out, we were welcome to return back without feeling that we were intruding. The breakfast - what can I say? There is a great selection of cereals and a lovely lots of fruit and yoghurt. The cooked breakfast is massive if you choose to have it all and kept us going ALL day. We loved how close we were to the lighthouse, it's worth a visit especially if you have a clear evening, you may get a great sunset.

This is a good place to stay.
The bedrooms are upstairs and are really clean with en-suite bathroom. The food was very good and plenty of it.
A huge breakfast if you want it and very well cooked and at a good price for B&B. Evening meal available to. As it a good way out from Stornaway about 45-60 min drive I would recommend booking evening meals.
Edna and Angus are very friendly to the guests.

Room Tip: No street lights so its very dark outside.

There will be a fantastic welcome waiting for you at Loch Beag. You will meet Edna, Angus and Poppy (the old lady-dog , the queen of the house) and soon become part of the family. The rooms are cosy, tidy and full of light, the breakfast is magnificent and everything is accompanied by a smile. You will really feel at home.
From Loch Beag you can easy walk up to a white sand beach or to the lighthouse of Butt of Lewis, with its rocks, birds and seals. A perfect stay.

That's a very nice b&b, well located in the north of Lewis. We had a very warm welcoming from Edna and Angus, nice talks, we were very pleased to meet them. We'll go back some day for sure ! Ness is a beautiful place with many things to see and walks to do... It's worth to stay there a few nights !

If you go to the very end of the last island in the Outer Hebrides and turn left just before the harbour... just along there on the right is a little B&B. You will not be disappointed by anything. Others have given more detail about the food, the welcome from Edna and her husband Angus and the faithful dog Poppy. So, I need to find something else to mention... the location. Walk out the door after your chicken and roasties... (remember, this is a long way north so it's light till 11 in June). Walk about a mile and a half and you will arrive at the end of the UK... this is the legendary Butt of Lewis. There's a lighthouse and sea and sky and gulls and sunsets and wild flowers and wind and cliffs. In the sea are the orcas, the seals, the porpoises and who knows what else. In the words of the Michelin Guide: WORTH A DETOUR.

Room Tip: Only 2 rooms - one with the sunset, one with the sunrise
