“Perfect home base for a holiday on Lewis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

After a very warm welcome, we spent a wonderful week in Glenview Cottage. The house was very well equipped. We enjoyed most the lovely and personal details you normally don't find, like local CD´s and Books. The winter garden is a perfect hide in fact of bad weather.
Hopefully we will come again.

“Amazing holiday, very comfortable cottage, stunning views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in Glenview Cottage at the end of May 2014. It was quite hard to find at first as we arrived late at night due to ferry being delayed because of bad weather. Rhoda and Neil are fantastic hosts and the cottage is beautiful. It has everything you could wish for! Our welcome treats included 4 large pieces of salmon and some smoked salmon with oat biscuits too - yummy! There was also a large bowl of fresh fruit and a variety of cakes. We have two small children, 2 and 4 and they had a great time staying in the cottage. There are some chickens across the road and sheep close by. Growing up in the city you do not usually see any of it so our boys loved it. Close by there is a Blackhouse village that is well worth a visit and standing stones. Plenty of stunning beaches on the island. You can get fresh scallops from the pier at Uig beach. They are delicious! You must go to the beach in Harris, it is incredible! It is a bit of a drive (1 hour or so) but you can pack a picnic with you. Scenery is breathtaking. Back to the cottage, it has everything. Very comfortable bedrooms, good shower and bath. Well equipped kitchen. Microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, slow cooker, massive fridge/freezer - you name it! Very attentive and helpful hosts. Nice patio to sit out on and have dinner/drink or simply enjoy the views. Boys kept busy playing with stones outside the cottage or hiding their toy dinosaurs in the heather. If you plan to come here with small children - pack your plastic cutlery/plates/cups. All crockery at the cottage is very posh and not very child friendly. This said, we have managed not to break anything! :) Amazing place, well positioned for sightseeing, we will definitely be back!

“Idyllic location for a perfect family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday in Rhoda and Neil’s fabulous cottage with our two children (aged 7 and 5), which was truly home from home. The cottage stands in an impressive location with superb breathtaking views. From this base we were able to visit many beaches and climb several hills. We thoroughly recommend this property and would love to return ourselves. Thank you - Rhoda and Neil.
