“Annual trip”
Reviewed 16 July 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Lovely cottage with a lovely view over the loch from the conservatory, which we sat in most of the time. It was comfortable and plenty of room for four adults and two dogs. Rhoda and Neil were there to greet us on arrival, making us feel very welcome. The cottage was well equipped, and also had a log burner which we lit one night and it made the cottage even cosier. It ticked all our boxes and we have booked it again for next year.

“Wish we were still there!”
Reviewed 14 February 2017 for a stay in August 2016

We went to Glenview in August for two weeks last summer. Not a day has gone by since when we haven't wished we weren't still there. There was a really warm welcome by the hosts (with gluten free Victoria sponge, flowers and other tasty local treats!) and helpful advice about local attractions. We found the cottage perfect for our requirements and very well placed for exploring Lewis. Our little girl loved pretending to be Katie Morag and feeding the pigs on the way to the cottage. We recommend heartedly, but do go for two weeks. One just honestly wouldn't be enough! Hoping to come back soon!

Management Response
21 Feb 2017
Our sincere thanks for your kind words, and how lovely to hear that you will be making a return visit. It is I must admit, a cottage made in heaven, not just for us but for all the guests who keep coming back year after year. We must be getting something right.

“Great property, fabulous weather - so lucky on both counts”

Wonderful, well-equipped, warm, comfortable cottage close to all the historical sites, as well as many of the staggeringly beautiful beaches on Lewis. A day trip to Harris, again with gorgeous beaches and mountains, is a lovely drive. So little time - so many beaches. Our dog was beached out by the end of the week.
Owners Rhoda and Neil were lovely and rightly proud of their home and heritage. OK, I've run out of superlatives now so will stop but can't wait to go back.

The attention to detail made this holiday house a real home from home and was only matched by probably the most spectacular weather and scenery you could wish for.

Just bring you personal belongings because everything else is here.

“Fabulous cottage in a great location!”

This is our third trip to the Isle of Lewis and Glenview cottage is our favourite by far! We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, really clean and also very practical. That is, it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an entrance bit where you can dump your outdoor gear as soon as you come in, a large parking area right next to the cottage, a dining table with superb views – a great spot from which to enjoy breakfast, a sitting room with a multifuel stove, a lounge area in the conservatory – which has under floor heating, a well equipped kitchen, wooden floors throughout but still retaining a cosy feel, central heating (we visited in Feb!) and all in a great location for visiting the entire island. There is also a decked seating area outside which overlooks the beautiful loch below, one to enjoy during the warmer months though!

Rhoda, Neil and Rusty the dog met us on arrival at the cottage with a hot cuppa and plate of goodies – a welcomed refreshment after our long journey! They gave us a quick run through of need-to-knows and made us and our little dog Melvin feel most welcome. Rhoda had even baked us a cake! She had also left us a plate of locally produced smoked salmon in the fridge for our supper! It actually felt like we were visiting family, a really lovely couple.

Writing this review just makes me want to go back again. So I hope you have a fabulous time on Lewis and enjoy Glenview cottage, and Rhoda and Neil’s kind and generous hospitality, as much as we did. Lisa, Darran and Melvin the dog.
