“Absolutely wonderful!!!”

these cottages are amazing. Just back from a weekend there and that was not nearly long enough. Everything in the cottage is luxurious, top quality, but above all very tasteful. All the other reviews are accurate. Nothing has been left to chance. Absolutely stunning and we will definitely return for a longer stay sometime in the future. In fact, I didn't want to leave, it was so fabulous.

“The most perfect place in the world!”

I have never in my life stayed anywhere so wonderful. A stunning, ultra luxurious hideaway in the most beautiful setting on earth. Where do I start? Breathtaking location, amazing ever changing views, incredible Eco-design by award-winning architect, perfection inside and out. This place is so romantic and peaceful and every detail is perfect - wood burning stove, underfloor heating, glamorous wet room with sauna and huge freestanding bath, Ren toiletries, robes and slippers and towels from The White Company, le Creuset pans, Gaggia coffee machine, every film I have ever wanted to see and never had time to. Don't bother bringing the kindle, the library is wonderful. The hosts, David and Kathleen have thought of everything. Fresh
Flowers, champagne, so many treats we have barely bought food. David even taught us how to build a real fire. This was our second wedding anniversary and I don't know how anything could have possibly been more perfect. Everything else on tripadvisor should be downgraded to four star by comparison to David and Kathleen's paradise here on Lewis.

“Excellent - Out of this world”

I would like to say this is my first ever review on trip advisor and I have got to say I was amazed with this place, took my missus as a surprise, the advertisement does not do this place justice, The location is out of this world, the facilities inside are just amazing from the dvd collection, the sound system which is bose, smart tv, books, maps, the quality of the furnishing is well beyond anything I expected, They have made sure everything is perfect if you never wanted to leave the cottage, even though you must because the location as in harris and Lewis is beautiful. this place is very special, I cannot recommend it highly enough, I travel a lot and this is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. I am normally very picky but nobody could pick a fault with this place.

“Gorgeous location and perfect setting for Honeymoon!”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

My wife and I stayed at Eagle Bay Cottages for our honeymoon in September 2014.

It was an amazing location. The house had a beautiful bedroom which was tailored for pure luxury with a super king size bed and soft cotton sheets, a gorgeous wetroom with accompanying rolltop bathroom and sauna and a fantastic kitchen / living room area (which is kitted out with everything you can possibly imagine you'd need for the week). The pictures on the official site and posted on our review really don't do the place enough justice. The view from the living room is simply awe-inspiring with the landscape changing every day.

David and Kathleen added some wonderful personal touches during our stay and the champagne and baked goods left on arrival were a great addition. Both were so friendly and more than willing to help throughout the week.

If this is your first time to the Outer Hebrides (Isle of Lewis / Harris), then we suggest you add the following to your plan:

- Book a trip with Lewis on his Fish N Trips (http://www.hebridesfishntrips.co.uk/). We had a fantastic 3 hour trip for £150 with Lewis in his brand new boat to see the wildlife around the Isle of Lewis. On our trip we saw White tailed Eagles (even got to see them feeding up close!), harbour porpoises, seals and a range of different birdlife. Lewis only ever does dedicated trips so you get his full attention during the time and he was a very friendly and knowledgeable guy!

NB: If you go on the trip with Lewis - chances are you will do a bit of fishing if that's your thing. If you do, then you will come away with a LOT of fresh fish (Pollock, Mackerel, etc) and Brown Crab. Take this in mind if you intend to book a food delivery during the week as you will easily get three days of dinners from the trip!

- Go see the beaches on the west side of the Isle of Lewis near Mangersta in addition to the more famous beaches at Luskentyre on the Isle of Lewis. They are beautiful and remote with barely anyone there.

- Take a walk along the North Harris Eagle Observatory track

- Explore the scenic routes off the main roads - the scenery is amazing and so peaceful.

- Go hiking everywhere! However if that's not your thing, then the house is also kitted out with fast broadband, and an excellent library of books and DVD's catering for all tastes.

- Go see the Harris tweed shops in South Harris (can be done at the same time as going to see St Clements Church in Rohan).

Overall it was a fantastic week and we will definitely be back. If you are looking to book a luxurious week away then Eagle Bay Cottages is a superb choice.

Fantastic location. Beautiful space - everything is brand new and the highest possible quality (bedding, kitchen utensils, electronics etc). Pantry, book shelves, DVDs, cook books incredibly well considered. Truly a wonderful experience.

“Stunning Luxury Accomodation - Perfect Hideaway”

Stayed here for a week on a relaxing 'Babymoon'. The house was absolutely stunning with every detail given 5-star luxury attention, from the huge comfy bed and high-end kitchen equipment to the sauna and the top-of the range hybrid bikes that were free to use. We received a warm welcome with an amazing welcome hamper of food and drinks - champagne, homebakes, salmon, eggs, bread, coffee, and lots of other delicacies ... not to mention the pregancy-friendly extras laid on for my wife - First class service and much appreciated. The location is perfect for exploring both Lewis and Harris with all of the main sights an easy drive away and Stornoway just 15 minutes away for supermarket supplies and restaurants. Our top sights were the Callanish Stones and Luskentyre beach, but there is so much more to also see.

The house is truly off the beaten track and has stunning panoramic views - perfect for a relaxing hideaway any time of year. You will not be disappointed staying here and we hope to return one day. Thank you to David and Kathleen for an excellent stay.

Eagle Bay Cottage was quite simply the most incredible place my wife and I have ever stayed. Everything from the finish of the decor, to the kitchen utensils and the produce within the welcome basket screamed quality. And of course the location and view is breathtaking!

We were met by David on our arrival who took time to show us around the Cottage and how the sauna etc worked. A lovely welcome which consisted of continuous jaw dropping moments.

My wife and I were absolutely over the moon with our stay and dearly hope we can return soon. We cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. Trust us you will not be disappointed.
