Although the viewpoint is quite a way from the nest, the scopes provided are excellent and you could get really clear views of the bird on the nest. There wasn't much activity but right at the end, the birds did a changeover which was great to see. The RSPB guide was really good at getting information across; I am a keen bird watcher but learnt a lot. Its well worth it.

Visited Mull eagle watch today & had an amazing time. This is nature so you have to be patient and hope for the best. Our patience paid off and we had a wonderful display of the male eagle returning to the nest and then the much larger female eagle flying off. She circled above us allowing us to appreciate the majestic sight of her. Throughout the visit, our ranger, Rachel was enthusiastic and informative and a real credit to the Mull Eagle watch. Thanks Rachel

We felt that this was best suited to people who are used to bird watching. The views of these amazing eagles are distant and few, so some people might be bored. Also, the top-spec scopes were constantly moved by people not used to them, so were usually out of focus or not fixed on the nests! The sites are remote with no facilities - a problem if it takes an hour to get there, 2 hours to do the Eagle Watch, then another hour back to civilisation? We were told that there was a café with toilet near one location, but discovered that it was only open after Easter, and Monday-Friday, so was no use to us. I would recommend that you think about your food, drink and toileting requirements before you book (the price is now £10 per adult, not £8 as it says on their website, by the way). The rangers we had were very knowledgeable and friendly, but the emphasis of Mull Eagle Watch is very much on the white-tailed sea eagle, and we were hoping for more chance of seeing golden eagles.

Hi,

Thanks for leaving us a review. Can't tell which of our viewing hides you visited from this, as we have two options for 2017, but we're sorry you found your visit lacking slightly. First of all, we do let everyone know that we are remote, and have few facilities - the reason for this lies with the eagles, as we have to be flexible in location - they move around a lot. There are toilets and food available within reasonable driving distance from both sites. We're also very happy for people to picnic on site before or after a tour.

Pleased to see you found us knowledgeable and friendly! We try our best to share our passion for eagles and wildlife, whilst working hard to ensure scopes are repositioned if needed, just make sure you let us know you're struggling to see the spot and we'll sort it.
Sorry our website hadn't been updated yet, there are so many sites that hold our information that it takes us a little while to get around to sorting them all each season, with price changes or location details. But, booking through Visit Scotland in Craignure should ensure you have the current knowledge of prices.
Finally, we are a tour focused on watching White-tailed eagles, as we advertise but we share knowledge on both species, and both species of eagle can be spotted at our hides, although golden eagles are the more secretive species. We also see Hen Harriers, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and more.

Hope you'll visit us again and give it another go in the future, and thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Even though it was a damp day, with the expert ranger at our side, we saw the whole white tailed eagle family and many other rare birds of prey and otherwise.

Binoculars are available for those without and there is a 'hide' if the weather's not so good.

It was easily the best value for money of our whole trip and I would recommend to everyone.
